Lots and lots of Forest to explore.... But it is a shame that nearly all of it has been logged at one time or another in the past 150 years.... And still being logged at places....

Currently closed all the time. Not sure why. On a Tuesday - visitors were stopping by every 5 minutes. As of Oct 6, Forest County has has a total of 15 covid-19 cases since February. The foyer is open with some hiking maps in slots. But there was no overall map of the forest. No rest room, just a potta-potty. There were > 20 cars in employee parking. Someone to answer questions would have been nice. Areas for peak leaves, areas with special animal sightings. Roads to trailheads that are not gated shut. Nice Forest but this is a review of the visitor center.

Wonderful forest..almost endless atv and snowmobile trails..Want the oil and gas companies out a there..They should not be allowed on any public lands!!!

Nice facility. Ranger most helpful. And it was open on Saturday.

Yes you can primitive camp in the National forest. I recommend heading towards Westline...hang a left just before Westline on Forest road 321. It follows Kinzua Creek. There are some nice spots on the creek about 4 miles up the road. A couple nice spots across bridge from Cougar Bob's in Kelletville too.
There's other ATV trail heads near champmans dam (Clarendon area), buckaloons (Pleasant township area), Cherry Grove area, and some others in surrounding areas. Depends on what part of the ANF
Yes, I believe as long as you're at least 50ft or 150ft from the road. And obviously not on anyone's property.
You can get more info at the Allegheny national forests parks/recreation campsites...or pack in and camp anywhere your heart desires!
Yes, there are, I have camped here in a tent multiple times. The minister creek area has beautiful campsites. The Tracy Ridge area has a lot of campsites situated near many trails by the Allegheny Reservoir. The Tracy Ridge trails also allow dispersed camping along the trail if you are looking to go backpacking.
I would hate to see the fines for doing it. I believe the max width on some trails is 64 inches. Believe me, that is tight in some spots.
No. There are specific areas for camping.
The NY part of Allegany state park is in the Salamanca area. We dont need handicap assessable trails...we just need to know if there are trails on the ny part that allow siste by sides. Thank you all
The Allegheny, tionesta, kinzua, Clarion, Warren, Ridgway, Port Allegheny, cooks forest isn't far. Twin lakes, kinzua dam area, Chapman dam east branch dam, red house lake, i could go on and on.
