Such a fun time on the railroad! We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating, the train very clean and everything in good repair. This is a place to take kids, or the whole family. You can stop and have a picnic halfway through in a beautiful grove.

What a great experience. We splurged and rented out a caboose. Well worth it! Our family could spread out and move around for different views. The kids loved it. Tip: there are no gift shops in Hockessin. Or maybe we couldn't find one?! Research the town before going, so you have an idea what you want to do for that 30 minutes you are there.

Near experience for sure. Very cool train and the quality is cool to see. The tickets said you would get off at a picnic area but you get the option to stay on the train. We prepared a snack so got off but would have stayed on otherwise.

Wow! What a nice experience. We took the diesel train in the morning in the summer. It was raining at first but quit shortly before the trip. Everyone was so accommodating with our wheelchair access. Yes, you can take a wheelchair. They move a platform to the doorway and raise you up. The windows are half open and the breeze was welcoming. You take a nice paced trip down the tracks while getting a historical experience of the area and times. The trip was an hour and a half in all. You have the choice of getting off and having a 30 minute picnic at picnic tables by the water or you can stay on and ride a bit further. We chose to stay on. Once the trip has gone the distance they stop and go in reverse back to Greenback Station. The seatbacks also change so you don't have to face the wrong direction. There are other train experiences just check out the website for details. It is so relaxing and peaceful, at least that was our experience. My 3 year old grandson fell asleep towards the end. They have a gift shop that doesn't disappoint if you want a souvenir. Don't forget to pickup the train schedule because on the other side is the history. We were stopped and not moving when I took the photo out the window, never put anything out the window while in motion. Enjoy your trip!
