Wow! Customer service was a big part of our lunch at George’s! From his initial greeting, helpful directions, suggestions to his pleasant conversation, George took these CA expats in. If the state survives at all, it will be people like George who keep it afloat. Plus the food was great, down home, country with Asian options. We’d come again for sure!

The food here is amazing. Just a nice old fashioned hamburger joint with a few other unique and equally great additions to the menu. As good as the food is, what truly makes it old fashioned to me is the staff. The whole staff works hard and is so professional. The gentleman that owns and runs the place (I’m assuming George) is first class in every way and his relationship with customers really put me in awe. I’ve been meaning to write this for a few weeks but things have been so hectic and I wanted to make sure I gave this comment the attention it deserved. While I was waiting for my order, I overheard a conversation the owner had with an elderly gentleman that truly touched me. Seriously. He took the time to actually listen to the customer, where for some reason I feel as though others wouldn’t. They talked about how times are tough, and we need to watch out for each other. How things will get better and what we as a community around Walnut Creek can do to help one another. It was something about the old man’s demeanor, as if someone was actually seeing him and acknowledging him for the first time in a while. None of the other customers in line were bothered by the time they took to talk. Must have been at least a 5 minute conversation. Everyone just seemed to be relaxed. The vibes of the place just put everyone at ease. It felt like the Walnut Creek I remember when I was growing up. So much as changed and society is so fast now that it truly made my afternoon to see the interaction. It gave me a lot of hope for the future and inspired me to take that same attitude and vibe with those I interact with. To the owner if you’re reading this, you’re an outstanding human being and I find myself so lucky to have witnessed the interaction. Thanks for making a fantastic menu, and most importantly, a fantastic shop atmosphere. I’ll be a customer for life.

From all the burger places you are to visit this place is a must to feel the authenticity and they taste of a real American burger. Fresh meat that is grinder daily from the fresh cut meats and made into a patty, grilled juicy and tender. Freshly cut tomatoes and greens make the burger look up and ready to be consumed. Surprisingly even the bacon added to JJ’s burger was not greasy and completed the taste. The bun was fluffy and dry. Inside interior might need a bit of a touchup, however it sure feels the place with the authenticity of an old days. Place is ran by its owner, who was on site and actively cooking and serving the clients. Thank you John for keeping the pace off Georgia’s Giant Hamburgers the way it is. All in all we’ve found our self a place in Walnut Creek to satisfy our burger crave.

Walnut Creek's hidden jem of a burger joint. High-quality beef burgers and some of the best onion rings in the city are hidden behind the rough exterior of George's. Owner was very friendly and provided great service to my friends and I. Definitely recommend checking them out if you're ever in the area.

So there's a line outside, spaced of course. One person at a time comes in and orders ( usually at the entrance area). Employees have total access to the story and still wear masks. So overall it's top notch
We've got an Independent burger place in El Cerrito called Al's Big Burger You'd love!
