Best local coffee shop in SF. Great espresso coffee and they always have a special filtered coffee of the month. Sandwiches and pastries are incredible too.

I had the best cheesecake of my life here! The cheesecake was so FRESH and tasted MAGICAL!! He offered it to me with strawberry jam. The jam was warm and at first I was confused but the warm jam with the cold cake was literally GOALS! the jam had very few sugar particles in it that gave this AMAZING texture. This cheesecake was a transformational experience for me. I recommend it to EVERYONE

Maybe it was the barista's first day on the job, maybe he doesn't know how to make single-shot espresso drinks, or I don't know what. But the latte was overly hot, watery, and tasteless.

Questions & Answers

The description of this as "part of a local mini-chain" isn't accurate. All the Royal Grounds at one time were owned by this guy named Ramsey and he may still own some of them, but this one on Polk is on its (I think) third post-Ramsey owner.

That's right and I would say more, the RGC not a chain for many years. These are independent of each other coffee shops.
