Delightful shop full of Russian and related items. Very friendly and helpful shopkeeper. Ready-to-eat food is available, but no food counter. I got an Uzbek samsa lamb meat pie and it was wonderful! I will definitely return. Oh, and prices looked very good for everything. It's not an expensive place. And I found sunflower halva there too!

We go to this store every week, a rare find for all things Russian, eastern European. They have a big selection of ethnic groceries including farm cheese to make syrniki, jams, cakes, candies, pickles, sausages, pastries, caviar, even Russian books and toys. They also have the dine-in section on the side of the store, but a bit narrow. You can also order to go box there too.It's located on the back of Costco Mountain View which is very convenient too. The staff there are all super friendly, and they speak both English and Russian to customers. The owner sometimes gives a little treat to my kid, which is such a nice gesture! Overall, I'd highly recommend Samovar to anyone who wants to try some eastern European food, or who wants a sneak peak into the eastern European culture!

My favorite place in town for Eastern European food! A good variety of all kinds of Russian food. I am especially happy about tvorog and dried fish. Very nice staff, always extremely helpful and polite. Also a lot of great Russian speaking events are hosted here, from poetry readings to concerts. If you want to buy Russian souvenirs, and even a great selection of Russian books - Samovar is a perfect place for this purpose! Thanks for reminding me about home in Silicon Valley!

Hello. Thank you for the question. We do not have this particular herring. We do have several low-salted herring options, but neither I believe went through the extensive fermentation process.
Most importantly we installed UV light sanitizer into our air circulation system. Air cleaned from all the viruses and molds going through the system. Air circulation system is running all the time. All our employees checked regularly for potential COVID signs. All employees are encourage to get vaccinated against COVID. All employees and customers wear face masks. We have a hand sanitizing station on entrance. We are also limiting number of customers in the store. All customers are encourage to keep distance between themselves and store employees. Shopping carts, baskets, counter surfaces and door handles are regularly sanitized.
