We had an appointment here on July 30th at 12:30 and ended up waiting for at least 30-45 mins while noticing that the people that checked in after us were getting their ears pierced before us. Weird, since we were rushed to select our earrings earlier and yet here we were waiting as if we had no appointment. After the fourth (or fifth) party after us were done getting pierced, we finally approached the person who helped us check in who then told us that we are on the queue and to keep waiting. A few mins later, she realized that she had made a mistake but never apologized or even acknowledged the situation. The guy who pierced our ears was friendly and did a good job, but he did tell us that he doesn’t know where things/tools are located in the room because he’s usually in the room next door (I take this as a sign that they rushed to get us back here ASAP after realizing they had forgotten about us). After getting our ears pierced, we noticed that our earrings were not what we had picked. They had gotten 2 out of 3 wrong. Mine was the right size but the wrong color and one of my sister’s earrings was the wrong size and the wrong color. We didn’t have time to say anything since we had an appointment afterwards, and we were already short on time from the extra wait. Disappointed in the wait time, rude customer service, and getting the wrong earrings.

I went in today for a forward helix piercing. All the staff were very attentive and helpful, but Ayana did the actual piercing and she was AMAZING! She's super nice and took the time to explain everything, made sure I was comfortable and the placement was exactly where I wanted it to be. 10/10!!!

Body Manipulations is one of the most well put together studios I’ve ever been to. The staff was so professional, extremely welcoming and very informative. I got pierced by Eldo and he was definitely very up front about everything that was to be expected. He openly walked me through the process and most importantly MADE ME FEEL COMFORTABLE. I showed up an hour early for my appointment and the person I wanted to see was out that day but I still think they shop deserves 5/5. The place was clean and had private booths for the different piercings. I saw Alex who was very knowledgeable and capable. He performed the piercings like a professional and got me set up with a replacement barbell for another piercing. 100% I plan on going back to this shop.

Not sure...but the professionalism and the people make up for any price you would pay. Great people and great job. My fiance has over 15 piercings in her face alone and she wont go anywhere else!

San Francisco city and county requires that a copy of the birth certificate OR guardianship papers be submitted for any minor, AND one legal guardian must be present during the entire process. As long as those requirements are met, you're good to go!

As long as your parent or guardian is present throughout the process, with your birth certificate also present (or guardianship papers), you can receive either of these piercings, no problem. Your guardian must have their ID present as well, with a name that matches your birth certificate or guardianship papers.

We are only able to have one person per appointment, so no friends etc. However if you are a minor, you must be accompanied by one parent. You will both be together through the entire appointment. Check our FAQ page for all the required information.

Body Manipulations will pierce earlobes down to age 4 with parental consent. Other piercings have other age recommendations, most of them you would be good for with parental consent. The piercing itself is probably around $40, but the jewelry you purchase will make the price vary.
In general, jewelry that is not purchased in-store MUST be purchased from a reputable body piercing studio or jewelry manufacturer. This means that "butterfly backed" or "friction backed" pieces are not able to be used for new piercings, even if they are likely to be made from safe materials. Any outside jewelry must be processed and sterilized before being used for new piercings, and this process takes 48 hours, meaning you cannot be pierced that same day with outside jewelry. The fee for sterilizing outside jewelry is $20 in addition to any piercing service cost.
