Called four times around 3:30 on a wenesday and got hung up on four times without anyone saying anything.

3hrs into our 7hr car trip the maintenance oil light went on. When I called the 1-800 # and connected to the ongoing rental issues dept, I was given two options. Take the car in to get an oil change or take the car to the nearest Hertz for a trade in. After fully unpacking the vehicle I took the car to the Hertz the agent directed me to. It was there that I was told they could not help me as their Hertz is privately owned and I was turned away with the option of driving another 40 minutes to a different Hertz. Already loosing a day to this mess I attempted to call the Chico Hertz. No direct option to talk to a person during this time. I had to pretend to be an insurance company to connect to a live person. The agent at the private Hertz confirmed there was an issue with the automated phone system. The response I got from Chico Hertz was “I wish you would have called me. Just drive the car.” There was an offer to possibly reimburse for my inconvenience but I had to call another 1-800 #. After calling this number 2x and again after the rental was completed I was told there was no report of the issue filed so they would have to contact the local Hertz. Customer service is sub par.

I reserved a vehicle 30 days in advance. I called again 1 week before I needed the vehicle. I get to the desk the vehicle they want to give me has a "hard hold". They attempt a second vehicle with the same result. The only vehicle they have left is a large SUV. They did give it to me at a reduced rate due to no vehicle available. 2 days later I get a call they want to exchange it because they have a reservation for it. I just put 15 gallons of fuel in it because I had a trip planned for Saturday. They promised to bring me a car with a full tank. Not o⁹nly did they not fill the tank I had to fight for a refund on the fuel I put in the vehicle. The vehicle they brought me was a Echo Sport. Huge difference in tank size. I do them a favor by letting them take the vehicle because of their issue and this is how you get rewarded. I do not recommend this business.

It's out at the airport which is close to me. The guy at the counter was great. Car was terrible for a long trip. Nissan Versa. Lot's of road noise. Didn't corner well. Almost blew off the road a few times from the wind. Never offered me a free upgrade like other car companies do. Car wasn't deep cleaned. Mirrors were spotty. Found a hanger inside the car. Will not rent from them again. Unless they give me a better car.

They do have a few
Don't rent from the Mather Field office. The agent is conveniently not there when the vehicle is returned and they have you return it to the reception desk; so, I didn't receive my deposit back.
