I mean, the parking area is fine and so is the rail trail, ending here. The thing is, I am assuming that at this spot, the rail trail will at some point lead into the Empire State Trail. However, at this point in time, it doesn’t connect to anything although there is a pedestrian crossing on route 32, leading nowhere. It’s a cliffhanger.

I did this rail trail using a gravel bike. Since sections of the trail are gravel the wider tire is recommended. The trail is flat and has a number of interesting views along the way. I got off the trail to return to my car using local roads in New Paltz.

The trail is made of compacted dirt, it's wide, flat & no potholes. So many trees on both sides of trail.

If you're looking for an easy hike, this is a nice flat walking trail. No views.

Great trail for a bike ride, run, or stroll. Paved section is about 2.25 miles long (about 4.5 miles out and back). Wooded section runs out to 213 (I believe this has been extended but I have not been further yet) in High Falls, around 17 miles out and back.
