My partner and I stayed at The Stewart Hotel for a day stay via the Hotels by Day app. Check-in was seamless and we received a warm reception upon arrival. The hotel room on the other hand was less than pleasant. The carpet and couch in the room were visibly soiled. There was peeling paint in the bathroom and cracks in the ceiling. There was very noticeable dust on the lamps and the shower floor also looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in a very long time. The television also didn’t work. The hotel room was spacious but could use a deep cleaning and furniture upgrade. The nicest feature of the room was the wallpaper and space.

I have only had one hotel stay that was more disappointing than this one. The initial reaction to the lobby and to the room was "this is not like the pictures". The hotel gallery depicts a bright, grand old classy hotel. Well...the old part is right...but the grand/classy isn't accurate. Clearly the photos were professional lite or photoshopped to make this dark dingy hotel show any signs of brightness and freshness ! The lobby was dark...the hallways were darker still and had a very old/musky smell. The room size was fine, but i had only one window and it had an A/C unit so so no view at all. The carpet looked outdated and dirty. There wasn't enough room in the bathroom to open the door fully to enter, so I had to partially open and then close the door to reach the toilet. The room was just barely clean enough to prevent me from leaving. The safe didn't work. I spoke with many other guests in the lobby and there was a constant theme of feeling ripped off by the well presented pictures on the website ! I would never stay at this hotel again and I would never recommend it to anyone !

I've stayed here several times over the years. The location is fabulous - centrally located, and across the street from Penn Station. The rooms have gotten a bit worn and could use a spruce up. I realize the pandemic has been tough on tourism, so I can see it might not have been time for room upgrades, but out suite could have used a good deep clean as well. Staff is friendly and helpful. If I hadn't gotten an amazing deal on the room, I'd have definitely complained. It was fine, from r the reduced price I paid, but definitely not worth full rate.

Had a very pleasant stay at the Stewart last week. The staff from the front desk and lobby to the house keepers were all excellent. I stayed in a one bedroom suite and it was very spacious. The bathroom was well laid out and homey. The furniture was well kept, though clearly worn. The bed was very comfortable and clean. The space overall could use a refresh, new wallpaper and carpet. But was in good condition for its age. The only thing that was dirty was the curtain things at the top of the windows. They just need to get pulled down and washed. Overall it was a good stay and I would go back next time I’m in the area

It is not very big but it has amenities
Listen the one manager literally ran from me. because I was complaining about my sheets not being changed in 6 days .six DAYS..the noise it's a nice hotel don't get it twisted but the staff SUCKS
Any train arriving at Penn Station in lower Manhattan works. Like DJ said its literally across from Penn Station its simple.
I was in the family last week. The hotel was very clean and in a great location. But due to the location it was noisy. We paid for 6 nights 2,600 for a family room.
Yes, once you get there and your room isn't ready you can leave your luggage.
Wifi is basically 32.00 a night. That's what you get for your "RESORT FEE"
I received an express mail envelope and was not charged
