The gorge trail hike was very nice. A pleasant easy walk with nice views of the surrounding cliffs and concluding with Taughannock Falls: New York State's tallest waterfall. The park also has access to Cayuga Lake. Along the lake shore there are picnic spots, a boat launch site, and places to fish. The views of the lake are also very nice. The South Rim trial above the gorge was also a nice walk with some good views of the gorge. However, the park should put up more signs that have trail maps on these trails. It would make it much more easy to navigate around these trails. Definitely, a NY State Park that is a nice place to visit!

Made the visit mid July and around 4-5pm, with my family of 9 including kids under 5. Great views once reached destination that’s about 15-20 min into the walk one way. Stroller friendly but it’s quite rocky and dusty, so good shoes are highly recommended along with water bottles to stay hydrated and avoid any health concerns. Falls seemed to have less flow than thought but still worth the time. Parking was $10/vehicle. Nice beach across the street!

I always bring my guests to this park. If they don't like hiking, then I just bring them to the overlook to view the big falls. There is also a gift shop at that location. However the gorge hike to the bottom of the falls is not very difficult, so I try to encourage my guests to give it a try. They are always glad they decided to go because they get to see cascading waterfalls and wildlife along a shaded trail. I have hiked the rim trail, and it is mostly shaded. Be sure to check out the lake side of the park. You can rent kayaks and relax at the "beach".

It really felt like a natural wonder in the middle of upstate New York! I believe a glacier carved out the entire area, but the waterfall was spectacular. Definitely a must-stop if you were driving by. It looks like there's a lot to do in the vicinity of the park, however, we were there in mid-April and quite a bit was closed (it was Easter weekend). You can get closer to the bottom of the falls with a very short walk from where you park down there. Just amazing

There are signs prohibiting bikes on at least the upper rim trails and the lower trail leading to the base of the falls.
Yes, it is just below the headquarters on Taughannock Park Road.
The state parks in New York are once a day fees no matter how many parks you visit for the day just keep your receipt!
I think they close it for some of the winter because otherwise the pipes would freeze, but reservations seem to go well into the fall (now).
The cabins do not have wifi.
As long as you have your dog on a leash, its not a problem
Further to the topic of bathrooms at the bottom... If you walk the path up from the lake, its not terribly far, and there are facilities by the lake.
