fantastic camping experience, loons calling at night, if you canoe watch for wind conditions.

We had an amazing time camping on Middle Saranac Lake. The weather was great, the views were stunning, and we loved the seclusion and serinity. We look forward to making a return journey next season!

When the weather is good, camping is much better. This year paid off and the weather is delivering an awesome camping trip. If you like bare bones campsites with a table, fire pit and rustic out house this place will fit the bill. Weather is a significant driver of the experience since when the weather is wet and cold guess what, you are. But when that happens take a trip to town and spend the day bowling at the Saranac lanes or get lunch/dinner in town to wait it out. Fishing is good so far with large Pike and bass to be caught (and released in our case) for your enjoyment. Fishing license is a bit expensive for 7 day out of state, but guess that's the price to pay to support fishing. You can prebuy license online we we're told, but we bought in Lake Placid. Floating dock at launch and good parking accommodations.

One of the Most Beautiful Places in America. Have camped on both Eagle and Halfway Islands, and would highly recommend the campground. Rent a canoe, grill on the island, listen to the loon calls...as tranquil as it gets.

cranberry lake is a nice option for rv camping. it is further west in the adk. there is canoe rental in saranac and lake placid not sure about delivery
They are by reservation. They are also closed after Columbus Day. Not sure the legality of using them with the campground closed for the season.
No RV accessible campsites at saranac lake. But nearby there are. You can search for them
You cannot make reservations for later than Columbus Day

best to park in the western parking lot at the small inlet. about 1 mile west of the main launch and check-in station. once out of the inlet you paddle north about 2 miles. hug the western shore if it is windy. get a paper map at checkin and orient yourself by the site numbers. it will take you a about 1h of paddling. there is a reed section in the north east corner of m. saranac lake and that will connect you to weller pond. there are no markers but the path is obvious as you get close.
