Helpful staff, beautiful building and combined resources of several area municipal libraries.
Trevor Joshua Hill
The library has that historic sophisticated feel. I could see an old English statesmen or dark poet in the early 1900's roaming the halls. Good job New Hampshire!
Tisha Remick
Wonderful and helpful staff and love the reconstruction of the childrens room. I finally was able to get an adult craft very excited to do!!
Lyndsey Carter
Staff was helpful, polite and respectful which in Manchester is not always the case. The library itself was clean and I was able to get done what I needed to easily. I wish there was more offered to do or learn there but with Covid-19 I am guessing they are limited in what they can do.

As a public library college textbooks are not in demand here and not part of our collection. (Unfortunately, they don't sell at our book sales either) You might try one of the academic libraries in the area that may be willing to purchase them from you if they're not "ancient". Good luck!
Yes, you can. Assuming you have a library card and the season you're interested in is in the library. If not, you can always reserve the season you'd like and you can check it out when it's available.
Hello Debra. Right now we are accepting limited donations at the West Manchester Branch Library at 76 Main Street. We can only accept books with limited wear. We cannot accept books that have already been discarded from a library. If you want to drop off a box or two of donations you can do that Monday through Friday 1 PM to 5 PM at the West Manchester Branch Library.
Only if your late returning items checked out.
He Jessica. Thanks for writing. Unfortunately, we don't have a fax machine. We do have a copier with a scanner, however. If the person to whom you'd like to fax would accept a scanned and emailed copy instead of a faxed copy of the document, then we'd be happy to help you scan it. We're open tonight until 8 pm.
Hi Shirley, Yes. Right now, due to COVID, only the auditorium can be reserved. Here's a link to our room reservation page, where you can get more details and make a reservation. https://www.manchester.lib.nh.us/Visit-Us/Meeting-Rooms --Steve Viggiano Manchester City Library
Hello, You do not need a library card to utilize the library building, however the library has new capacity limits. There is limited seating in the building to encourage short visits at this time. The library building is only open to the public for 2 hour blocks and visits are limited to once a day. Please visit our website for more information. www.manchesterlibrary.org
Hi Traci, the library will be re-opening, in a limited capacity compared to pre-COVID, on Monday, March 8th at 9 a.m. We will update the library's home page to reflect this in the coming days.
Hi there! Yes, we have AtoZdatabases, just like Wadleigh does. You can find it, along with other research tools, on our library's databases page: http://www.manchester.lib.nh.us/Research/Databases. To use the service from home, you'll need a Manchester City Library card, which you can sign up for by visiting https://findit.gmilcs.org/polaris/patronaccount/selfregister.aspx?ctx=17.1033.0.0.2. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
The library building is not open to the public yet. They are doing curbside service and you can pick up any materials outside the library during certain hours. Check their website for more information.
Hi Joshua. Thanks for writing. There is a display case in our NH Room in memory of your father. Our NH Room librarian took some photos of the case, which displays our Harko glass collection, as well as the plaque with his name on it. I've added them to the photos section of our Google business listing.
Hi Mr. Levesque. Stock prices change by the minute, so I can't give you an answer that won't become outdated very quickly. Also, the lowest price stock may not be the best stock to invest in. If you're looking to invest a small amount of money, however, there are services online that will help you do that, like stashinvest.com, acorns.com, or robinhood.com. I'd suggest you learn as much about a company as you can before handing over your money, however, and reading up on the stock market as well. We have plenty of books on investments, and we'd be happy to help you find one the next time you visit us.
We do accept donations of books, preferably no older than 10 years old. However, since we just had a Book Sale this past Saturday, we won't be accepting donations again until a week before our next Book Sale on Saturday, September 28, 2019.
Sorry for the delay in replying! Yes, we do still have a pass to the MFA in Boston. You can check it out with your Library Card the day before you plan to attend. Here is a link to our Museum passes where you can reserve the pass. http://www.manchester.lib.nh.us/Find/Museum-Passes
Yes, there's a small lot on the Concord Street side of the building. If that lot is full, there is also some parking spaces on Pine Street and in the Hartnett Lot across the street from the Library. It's metered parking around the perimeter of the lot.
It costs .20 per page to print documents at Manchester City Library
To get a library card you need to bring in a valid photo ID with your current name and Manchester address on it. If your ID doesn't have your current address on it, just bring in a recent utility or phone bill with your name and your Manchester address on it. When you arrive you can fill out a short registration card and you'll be entered into our computer system and get your card within a couple of minutes.
Hello, We provide tax forms and instructions. We can also direct you to nearby places that can help you with your taxes.
Wheelchair access on Concord St side of building with elevator to all floors.
