Wow. I returned home to Newfane to celebrate the life of Monika Chardain this spring. Chef Andrea and her daughter Francesca opened not only the Four Columns but also their hearts to us. The entire staff was professional, attentive and positive. The grounds were immaculate and in full bloom. Our breakfast each morning was fresh and exploding with flavor. The duck dinner I enjoyed was 5 star and the wine selection that Francesca curated for our weekend was perfect. The rooms were sparkling clean, water pressure was excellent and the appointments were historical with a Vermont flair. I can't wait to return with my wife for a weekend get-away soon. Thank you Four Columns for helping us remember such a wonderful woman!

Very enjoyable french inspired cuisine with a wine list that was just the right size. Though more shwanky than my usual haunts, they did tagliatelle very well (I am a noodle reviewer afterall!), the owner was very lovely.

Not sure where to start with this experience- I can’t figure out why the reviews are overwhelmingly positive. This place is nothing like it was advertised to be. The website displayed a room with a full size functional fireplace, a rug and other amenities. We initially arrived to discover the door to our building (“South Newfane” portion of the property) doesn’t close. Upon walking into the room, we noticed the fireplace pictured wasn’t there, and instead a cheap looking fake fire pit was in its place. The bed was hard and creaky. The shower handle didn’t work right, and the hot water lasted for no more than a minute. The shower head itself put out pathetic water pressure. The curtain drawstring was broken. On top of all that, our neighbors had two kids that were running up and down the stairs slamming the doors since 6AM until past 8AM. We attempted to contact the phone number given on the welcome sheet, but texts and calls do not go through. We waited until 8AM when the front desk supposedly would open, and nobody answered. We went over to the main building to discover nobody was manning it. This place was advertised as a luxury inn but felt more like a glorified motel. The only positive part of this experience was that we received a refund for our stay, the breakfast was quite good, and the staff were friendly. For over $300 on a weekend night however, it wasn’t worth it. Hopefully this review will encourage folks to take their hard-earned money elsewhere.

Kind, attentive staff, delicious breakfast and tavern snacks, cute and comfortable room, and gorgeously maintained property! What more could you want from a New England getaway?! We loved our visit to the Four Columns Inn and would recommend to anyone!

Hi Mariah! No, not right now. We plan to reopen for Memorial Weekend when hopefully we can resume our popular outdoor dining again!
At the present time the spa therapists (who are 3rd party contractors and not actually staff of the inn) will only book massages for people who live in Vermont.
Unfortunately, no, all the inn rooms only have one bed. There is however a 4 bedroom house available on the property too which is great for families or people needing multiple beds...
Most of the year... We normally close for 'mud season' in April.
