They offer interesting lectures, a nice gallery space with rotating exhibits, have several properties that are well maintained--some which you can rent, a great museum/storefront offering great gifts w/store side pick-up, delivery and personalized shopping, a vast and growing collections, research services and so much more! And the staff is fantastic. ;)

I think the interesting people of Newport are actually not listed with the Newport Historical Society. It was my great grandmother who must have blew them away during the gilded age. why do people bother to rate on google reviews with no actual review?

Was Bishop's diner once connected to a bar? I was in Newport from 1976-80. I would really like to know.

Hi Dan, According to the city directories, Bishop’s Diner used to be the Princeton Diner and Princeton Catering. Next to it was “My Brother’s Place Tavern.” -NHS Staff

I believe the word should be "change." Here is a link to the official contest page where you can download the 2019 prompt and the submission form. I hope this helps! https://newporthistory.org/resource-center/academic-opportunities/essay-competition/
