Myself and my boyfriend already have kayaks but we came here for one of our friends who was visiting from out of town to have a third kayak for us to all go out onto the water together. The price is reasonable $30 for 3 hours, at this location they include paddles and life vests. The river is absolutely gorgeous and a treat for us to be on. A lot of the area is shallow, so if you're worried about kayaking for the first time this is an excellent location for it.

Upstate Kayak Rentals made it quick and effortless to reserve 2 kayaks from on of their self service hubs. It's easy to reserve and pay online, then enter the lock code to retrieve the reserved kayaks at whatever spot you're taking off from. My husband wanted to go out for his birthday, and I was able to reserve and pay the same day for an afternoon spot at Henry Hudson Park in Bethlehem. They offer 3 hour blocks for reservation, starting at 7 am (I would book this the day before) through 7 pm. They have plenty of self service hubs to choose from, which is perfect given the current climate of social distancing. Paddles and life vests are provided though you can bring your own, too. It's nice they also give the option (for a fee) for the kayaks to be picked up from another hub up or down the river if you dont want to circle back to where you started. For 2 kayaks I thought the pricing was fair for 3 hours, definitely worth it if you dont go out much or dont want to invest in your own equipment.

My son and I went kayaking for the first time. We had an awesome time! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Randi and Justin took the time to show us what to do and what not to do! After a lesson from Randi we were experts ! They carry the kayaks to and from the water, help you in and out, and just go that extra mile. We will definitely be back! I just wish we did it sooner!
