I was seen by a PA for a possible muscle pull in the groin area. A urine sample was taken to rule out UTI. The urine sample was supposed to be sent out for a culture because of dip test result. When I called 3 days later for results, I am told oops, no record of it being sent out. Go somewhere else if you aren’t feeling well

2 PA’s at this facility mis-diagnosed my 3 DVTs as a “torn bicep”. I’m grateful that I’m a medical provider and knew that we weren’t dealing with a musculoskeletal injury. The providers suggested I follow up with Ortho and then when I asked for an ultrasound to rule out a clot, I was told if I was concerned about that I could go to the ER and ask for one. Thankfully my PCP was able to get me in, order an ultrasound, and I’m currently being treated for my clots. I won’t be back to Albany Med EmUrgent care any time soon and will not recommend for my family, friends, or patients.

My husband and I went in this afternoon to be tested for Covid-19 and everyone in the office was professional, patient, and understanding; except for the provider who saw me for the actual test. Dr. Robert Holterman came in asking about my vaccination status. I have not been vaccinated, as recommended by my own primary care provider (PCP) due to hormonal issues she wishes to address before I get the vaccine and return to working in nursing/healthcare, and I was ready to discuss this. I even had the note from my PCP ready. Instead of being asked with an open and receptive mind, Dr. Holterman met me with judgement and an assumption that since I am young and unvaccinated, my vaccination status must be due to negligence/stubbornness/inconsideration. I did call him out and ask why he asked what he asked with the judgement he met me with, and he said, "I guess this has all just made me jaded". To which I responded with how unfair it was for him to make such an assumption that because I am young and haven't yet been vaccinated, that I must be "one of those" (using his words). I explained my PCP's decision and reasoning behind my status and I felt the judgement stop after we discussed my health concerns. He later apologized when I acknowledged the harm of his assumptions and couldn't hold back tears while he did his assessment. He did apologize multiple times and agreed with me, that his initial assumption was wrong and unfair. As a healthcare professional who has stepped away from work due to health issues and this virus, I'm fully aware of the physical and mental pressures of the job. This has already been an incredibly difficult year and a half for everyone involved, and I can assure you the decisions made by myself and PCP are not made carelessly. Regardless of vaccination status, Dr. Holterman should have asked his screening questions with an open mind and willingness to connect with the patient. He should have showed empathy and ability to care, like the posters all throughout the facility claim to do. CARE. Dr. Holterman should not have let his own jaded emotions, assumptions, and lack of empathy get in the way of how he met me. I'm disappointed in the careless actions he made today.

I love that you guys gave this place one star because when i go later today it will be empty, but I felt badly that no one is standing up for this place. I’m not sure what all of these people experienced, but my family has been there at least 6 times and all of them have been a positive experience. You go to Urgent Care for minor issues, not real medical issues. Although, I was concerned when we showed up for my son who had a deep punctured wound in his foot, from a belt buckle. They checked him out, cleaned it up, told me what to do and it healed beautifully. My husband and other son has been there and we’ve had no issues. If you have concerns you should follow up with your PCP. Although, from the sound of things most of you don’t have one. (No disrespect) Anytime you go to ANY Urgent Care they expect payment right then. If you don’t have the copay you shouldn’t be at Urgent Care. My husband thought he was having a heart attack they did the EKG and he wasn’t! He followed up with our doctor the next day and he ended up being fine. We went there again for a really bad case of hiccups and they prescribed a quick dose of a medicine that ended up working to get rid of them. It hasn’t happened since. Also, I have never waited longer than 15 minutes to be seen. I hate even writing that because now people will know my go to spot!
