Kitty Cat
While they are great for adoption, caring for animals, and providing services. They lack communication between the employees, I spent over two months communicating with various employees about when they had availability to take in a little of kittens, when the day finally came, and I called to confirm the time, I was completely blown off and told there was nothing scheduled, nobody was to bring in animals, and they had no idea what I was talking about.

They have two pups that i produced there and wont let me get them because the owner surrendered them with pedigrees and paperwork. Youd think that they'd allow me the breeder to have them to free up space in their shelter but apparently charging over 300 dollars more thrn their normal fee is more important. These pups have grown up together its all they know and the shelter will split them up

We adopted two cats August 1, 2019, short hair brothers. The staff here were so above and beyond helpful, caring, and welcoming to us. They were 12 weeks at the time and were neutered the day we brought them home. Several months later we are totally happy with our two new family members and would highly recommend adopting here. Thank you so much for your special staff and for your valuable service to our community!

Please check/ stop by the Jackson Co. Animal Shelter, open tomorrow 11am to 4pm...maybe someone brought your lost kitty in!
A dog that has attacked another dog is not a crime, unless it was off leash or got out and onto someone else's property and attacked the dog there.. As far as "going after people" if the dog has not bitten or harmed a human, then nothing. If it is not contained and running loose and "going after people" in that manner, you should call them (Jackson County Animal Control) and make a report.
You have to go online or from your primary care. I went thru US Service Animals.org. Cost $200. You will get a certificate and laminated wallet ID (w/dogs picture). The site will explain everything. My ESA came from JCAS and I couldn't be more pleased w/her!
The shelter does offer assistance with humane euthanasia in emergency situations.. You would have to contact them to explain the situation and set an appointment
Contact the shelter directly by phone they can answer that
You can find info online at FOTAS.org and sign up for their monthly orientation session.
No.
Yes, if the beds can be washed, or have a removable cover that can be washed.
For dogs without a microchip or other sort of ID on them it is 72 hours until they become County property if not claimed. Dogs with a microchip or ID are held for 10 days. Then they are evaluated, which might take a week or more, for adoption.
Animal control is for domestic pets, for questions about coyotes you may have to contact Dept of fish and wildlife.
You would call them (Jackson County Animal Control). But first, if you have not already, be a respectful neighbor (and to save time and resources of Animal Control's) and state your concern to your neighbor personally first. Then, if they are unwilling/unable to solve the issue, call and file a compaint. Dogs that usually bark all night, do it because they are lonely/lacking stimulation, and they want to be inside with their human pack members. Kindly ask your neighbor if they can keep their dog in at night, because you are worried their dog is lonely and because it is disturbing to your sleep.
First and foremost, if you have not already done this, please speak with your neighbor and state your concern. Most dogs that bark all night (I'm assuming the dog is left outside all night?) is from loneliness and lack of stimulation, unless they are barking at an actual human or animal.. They are pack animals and want to be inside, with their pack members. Just be tactful and let them know it's very hard to sleep, and that you think their dog is lonely and wants to be inside, and tell them that's usually why they will bark all night long. Just ask kindly if they could please keep their dog inside at night because it's extremely disturbing to you. It's respectful to go that route of talking with them first, so it gives them a chance to correct the issue on their own (and saves time and resources for Animal Control) and will keep any hostility towards you down. If they are unwilling or unable to do anything to correct the issue, your second step would be to call and report them.
Lots of cats get brought in. Best thing is to go look in person or look on www.Jacksoncounty.org/shelter and look under lost and found cats at photos of cats in the shelter. Be sure to have the owner put in a lost pet report, too.
Call them and ask.
11 am to 1 pm on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
Overall, 378 shots were provided. The main purpose of the shot clinic is to provide rabies vaccine to dogs and license dogs in Jackson County. Clinic ran over until 3:30 p.m.
All positions are posted on the Jackson County website. I don't think they have any job openings, but there are plenty of volunteer opportunities through FOTAS.
Currently, training for volunteers is scheduled every Saturday unless it's a holiday. Please check with the shelter for more information on eligibility.there are lots of opportunities for volunteers to partake in depending on whether you want to be with the dogs or the cats.
yes
Separated.
Additional information to Jennifer Brusca's: After the 72 holding period of waiting for the animal to be claimed, if they are unclaimed, they will be "Evaluated For Adoption". If they are deemed "adoptable", and if the shelter has the space to house them, they will be put up for adoption. If the animal is deemed "unadoptable" for any reason, or if they do not have the space to house the animal, the animal is killed.
Contact spayneuter.com.
First, are there any other homes nearby you? This also could be a type of needy attention that they're not getting from their owner. You could see if the animal is being mistreated, if so call animal control or the police to help.
No sure, but I would call animal control and check to see if dogs are licensed. They should check with the owner.
Adoption fees, no. Vaccination fees if the dog wasn't licensed, quite likely. Call the shelter for specifics.
If your dog has a current Jackson County license, you get one free ride home per year. If not, then yes, there are impound fees to cover caring for your dog and licensing fees.
No charge for stray dogs. Cats and small animals are $10. But helpful to call first.
24 hours, but sometimes the staff will permit 48 hours depending on the situation
Yea, I had to go door to door to find the owner of a dog. No tags. He was chipped but how could I read it. Apprently some police but not all have chip readers in their cars, you'd have to call the station to find out.
They will take in stray cats that are ill, but they will be most likely killed. Just so you know, there are no communicable diseases that cats can pass on to humans; only from one cat to another. Random Fact: you can also get "toxic plasmosis" from the feces of cats, whether they are healthy cats or not.
Unfortunately not. You have to wait to call them during hours of operation. You can also look online on their website (petharbor.com, but keep in mind that it may not have been updated since your pet arrived), and always be sure to check on Craigslist's 'Lost and Found', as well as any pet/missing pet groups on Facebook. ALWAYS check IN PERSON for your pet. Your description of your pet may be different from their description. There have been cases where animals WERE there, but the shelter told the owners that the animal was not there.
I guess that depends on what you mean by help with cats. The shelter will take in Stray Cats, one cat per day per person at $10 drop-off fee. You could also surrender an owned cat, but you need to call first for availability. If you're talking about vet care, the shelter does not have a vet on staff. Hope this helped!
This is Animal Control, not a dog boarding facility.
As of now, April 2018, dogs over 6 months old are $105.00. Puppies are $115.00

***** If it is After Hours, call your local law enforcement's non- emergency line, and they will send an officer out to pick up the animal.
