This Y is a gem. They provide all you need to stay fit and healthy. I love the atmosphere and the staff, they always make you feel like you're part of their family. They are professionals first but they're also fun like your siblings, caring like a mom, and encouraging like a dad. The front desk staff is helpful and always in a good mood. The classes are well structured and constantly improving to meet their member's needs. My kids love their play time with their amazing child watch teachers. The Family Fitness class is our absolute favorite and every parent should consider to give this a try. The instructor is fantastic. She has the ability to reach each child on their own personal level. One of my boys was very shy in the first few classes while the other had a blast. She'd encourage and cheer for the active one but noticed right away that my other son was a little uncomfortable. She did not try to approach him, she was aware that this might make him feel exploited, so she gave him time and room to find his way in. And now they both don't want to miss a single class. The other coaches, instructors, and team members are caring and professional, I always receive help and support with a smile. I love this Y and everything it has to offer. Their "Parents Night Out" is contributing immensely to my parental sanity 😁. Thank you Team Y

WARNING TO PARENTS!!! I was working out Friday 5/6/22 in the afternoon and all off a sudden, a wave of small children came running through the gym and playing on all the machines, including the treadmills. I was shocked to see that because I’ve never experienced this before at a gym but it seemed as though it could be a regular occurrence. The issue is that several times I looked around and not one staff member was in there watching them. Apparently they didn’t know that last year alone, over 2000 children under the age of 8 were seriously injured and a few killed in treadmill accidents. Any one of those little kids could have been seriously injured and if it eventually happens, they’ll have a big lawsuit on their hands. If I knew they left my small child on a treadmill unattended, there would be someone there that would be in serious trouble. Plus, a gym is no place for small children to be running around. That’s why they have a day care. Come on guys, use your brains. I know you think you’re being nice and fun but you were being extremely irresponsible. I hope management corrects this problem before an innocent young child gets seriously injured or God forbid, is fatally injured. If they try to say the kids were supervised the whole time, it’s a lie because I looked around everywhere and there was absolutely no staff. All of the children looked to be between 6-8. Other than that lack of judgement, the gym’s decent. Staff is pretty nice too. Sometimes they have machines that are out of order for a long time but that may just be parts so no biggie.

I haven't been there. I called. This Y does not accept Silver Sneakers, the Medicare program for seniors. The paid membership for a single individual is $48 per month plus a $50 application fee. So ok, no Y for me in Fort Myers.

I absolutely love my job and our members! We have the nicest people in town and we are building an amazing and supportive community at the YMCA of Ft Myers. We offer so much to help the community and that personally feels good to me to know that we are not just a gym, we are a community helping one another.

We also visit from another Y. They allowed us 5 free passes, then I believe charged my husband $3/visit. (I'm an employee up north)
No
No pool. Ft Myers Aquatic center is nearby on Matthew Dr. I think Bonita's YMCA does
Yes we have gymnastics on Tuesday and Thursday
No, there is no pool at this location
We honor our of state Y members by giving them 5 free visits then it is $5 a visit after that
If you have a Silver Sneakers card, you can go to almost every gym. I live in Cape Coral and I have found that L A Fitness has Silver Sneakers classes three times a week. It is located on Del Prado near Veterans. If you live in Ft. Myers call the gyms or go on line and check what they offer. Then visit the facilities to see the one you like the best.😃
Yes. Give them a call for options.
No, not at ft Myers. Try Bonita springs
No pool. But very good exercise classes.
Yes, they have camp all summer camp, although the full day camps are NOT held at the Y. (They are offsite.) The detailed brochure with member and non-member pricing is here: https://www.swflymca.org/main/summer-camp/.
Agree u r allowed to go a few times
This Y has a small campus. Funds could also be an issue, as it's a largely seasonal facility?
There are several senior options - the latest schedule is posted at https://www.swflymca.org/micro-site-fort-myers-ymca/group-exercise.
Sure does!
No. This is a recreational center for kids.
