Due to difficult circumstances we needed to move our aunt from Masonic Home to another facility. We have had several family members in a number of facilities in the St. Petersburg area. After reassessing needs and facilities we chose The Pointe. This move was managed and completed within 2 weeks of initial contact with Pedro Ramos at The Pointe. He coordinated all of the paperwork, did the on site assessment and created a room with furniture available at his facility until we could replace it with our own pieces. I can't even express how grateful our family was to have this happen in such a professional and organized manner. Tina Nguyen took over as soon as we arrived, creating a contact with us personally, then via email and cell phone. She is efficient, professional and thorough. She helped us navigate through the pharmacy, physical therapy and physician services. I have so much more to say about the facility and others who have been so instrumental in our aunt's care, and will probably do so in another post. If I can add any value to your search for a place for Assisted Living, I am happy for you to contact Tina and she has my permission to release my contact information.

New Beginnings Supportive Transitions for Seniors

I cannot express how amazing it has been dealing with this community and more specifically it's wonderful Executive Director Pedro. My company is out of New York and Connecticut and I assist families with navigating options for their elderly loved ones. I have been working with a family who lives in NY but their mom lives in St. Petersburg Florida. The woman I was helping was unfortunately having a very bad experience in a local nursing home to the area. The family wanted her out so I began calling communities trying to vett them over the phone. The Pointe was the only community that I immediately had confidence in. The concierge answering the phone was wonderful and made me immediately feel like this place was home. Pedro went above and beyond for this family to make this move successful. With countless conversations over the phone and a lot of back and forth with the nursing home he was able to make the move happen. The woman was able to move in today and we already see a difference in her. The family called me in tears saying that their mom was sitting up, having conversations with staff, and eating. It was an immediate mood change being at The pointe. Quality of life is the most important thing we need to strive for in this type of work. Pedro and his team understand this very well! Thank you so much for everything !

ATTENTION APPLICANTS: If I could give 0 stars I would. This is without a doubt the worst community to work at. IT IS FRUSTRATING AND DEPRESSING and I would rather take care of my loved one than to EVER put them in a place like this. In the few months Pedro (the Executive Director) has been there, every single manager has left: Maintenance, Business Office, Memory Care Director, Activities Director, Marketing Director, Move-In Coordinator, Resident Care Director and Wellness Director plus countless other supporting staff (Including two employees that worked there for over 20 years in total. (Keep in Mind he has only been employed with the company for 6 months). They blame it on Covid and the unemployment rate but in reality all of the employees are working at other communities. I have never seen a turnover rate so high in my life time. Has anyone tried to look at a turnover graph? I am sure it is at like 500%. Good thing he brought his right hand(Pacsha) to vouch for his horrible management skills. If not he would probably be gone. The company says they have an "Open Door" policy but then will slam that door right in your face and either pretend nothing is wrong or will shame you for caring. If Inspirit had any sense they would have a plan of action because he isn't an executive director; he is just an overpaid Marketer. I'm sure he even collects on the commission for move-ins. If that's the case sign me up. I would love to be the marketer, get commission, and work under the title of Executive Director. In Summary: If you are looking to work at an ALF, don't work here. You will regret it.

A friend of mine lives here and she has been there since Brookdale. The community is absolutely Beautiful. It’s a great location but horribly run. The Point doesn’t really seem to know what they are doing when hiring employees. Mildred (we will call her Mildred for privacy purposes) always complains that The nurse techs who take care of her don’t seem to have been properly trained. Maybe it’s the pay or maybe it is the hiring process. But I too would find it very hard to train somebody when there isn’t anyone to train them. When moving someone into a community, I would want to know who will be taking care of my loved one but instead every time I talk to Mildred, she is very unhappy. The only employees that seem to be able to help me with anything are the front desk, the Main Cook Carolyn, Corey in maintenance and the lady that does HR (Lena?). They are the only ones who seem to have half of an idea of what is going on. The new guy that runs the community is never present to answer any questions. He always brushes the questions off to Lena or Pasha. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I miss brookdale.
