Came into the shop a few weeks ago. I have been a frequenter of some other shops in this county and Port Charlotte. My initial talk with whom I believed to be the owner was friendly and inspiring. I was encouraged to come to FNM to meet some new people. I did end up coming to an FNM a few weeks later with the intent to play commander. When I arrived I was simply looking around as I had only been at this shop once before and was just getting a view of the tables. The same man (I believe is the owner) was at a computer and addressed me immediately while sitting at a smaller table with a laptop. I only asked a few questions about the format, particularly about whether we were doing multiplayer pods or one vs one. He proceeded to bombard me with a bunch of things about how I had to pay $5 to get a seat ( which I did not mind, this is a business after all) but that I should have no expectations about playing competitively and he didn't necessarily have "free" stuff to hand out. I didn't say a word I don't think that would have relayed any of those expectations. But it wasn't simply what was said, but how it was said. He told me he was busy and I needed to go back to the front to pay for my seat. I did so. While waiting in line there were at least 3 or 4 people ahead of me. There was one employee ringing everyone up and I was just waiting for my turn in line. The man (the owner?) seemed frustrated that he had to stop whatever he was doing and come up to assist with the checkouts. He did not really attempt to hide his annoyance and shifted into a rude demeanor with his customers. At this point, I reconsidered staying and playing here and simply left. He made sure to yell "have a nice day" at me while I walked out. I won't be returning to this place.

I dropped off a bunch of cards here as I needed some cash as we had a death in the family and things are really tight and I didn't really go through their evaluation and come to find out that they totally ripped me off.. I mean seriously ripped me off do not sell your cards here!!

Used to have a lot of fun going in and playing with my friends but nowadays, I'd reccomend going anywhere else. A price gouge and not handling issues within the store appropriately. This employee who caused the issues was reported doing it in the past to a now closed shop. I will always say you're better off paying for it online than here.

Great game store! Plenty of boardgames and MTG to choose from. Really nice owners and others running the store. I hope they are successful building a weekly boardgame group.

Hello! Thanks fo asking! We have a longer list taped to our door but, to summarize, we require hand washing upon entry, we recommend masks, we sanitize frequently and we have additional safety guidelines for anyone who spends time at our table.
FNM has Standard, Modern, Commander, and draft available. Draft is $15. I think constructed is $5 but I'm not positive.
DIG is not hiring as of this time, but is always accepting applications.
Thanks, Kim! Yes, we do buy both Pokemon and Magic Singles for either cash or store credit. We will have you sign a contract, so we both know what you are leaving. Then we will quarantine them for four days, before they go into the queue for appraisal. Once they have been appraised and valued, you will receive a quote via email, that you may choose to accept or decline. Thanks for asking!
Hi Antonio! We don't have a lot of anything played right now, due to Covid. That said, while we are open to the possibility, we have not had a lot of interest in Vanguard yet. Thanks for asking!
Hi Chris! We also do buy lots of comics occasionally. Stop by to chat about what you have! Thanks for asking!
They've got comics, tabletop games, trading card games and hobby accessories. I don't believe they sell any retro games or consoles
Hi Jahmell! Mondays are the nights when we reserve tables for D&D, amd have DMs (dungeon masters) ready to lead a group. We always have room for beginners, as well. You are always welcome to come in another time though! We would not have DMs here for you, however. Nor can we guarantee a table availability, especially one of the busier nights. Feel free to come in, any time, though.
Yes we do! Thursday evenings at 6pm and Sundays at 4pm. Please find us on Facebook @descentintogaming for more information or give us a call!

Descent Into Gaming does buy MTG cards for cash or store credit, depending on value, condition, risk and need. We do allow in-store trading, but we ask that you give the store the right of first refusal. Thanks for asking!
