I grew up in this church and it’s unfortunate. I came to know the Lord here. By all means if you feel safe and included stay at this church. But only speaking from my experience. Unfortunately I’ve felt “othered” as a person of color and a minority group. It seems the staff has a lack of training in understanding diversity and the importance of that in the church. After a discussion with leadership at this church it is clear to me education on understanding minority groups and serving them equally isn’t being applied nor will ever be. Love God loves others unfortunately falls short. But there are other church’s I would love to recommend for you to attend in St.Petersburg FL.

Not too big, not too small, just right! Central is a great place for anyone looking for a great mid-sized church. There are plenty of ways to get involved and meet people: Sunday Schools, Small Groups, Mid-week Bible Studies, Women's & Men's Ministries, Book Club, etc. They have a coffee bar and wide halls with sofas to sit and chat too. Yet it's small enough so you don't feel lost in a crowd. The Bible-based, sound doctrine preaching is challenging and encouraging too. The music is just right also. We sing great contemporary songs every Sunday, but they throw in a hymn every once in a while. One other thing I love about Central is the variety of ages of everyone here. It's not a "young person's church" or an "old person's church." I benefit greatly from being involved with all ages. If you're looking for a church home, be sure give Central a try!

There are all kinds of people at Central some like me and others who are not like me, but we all love each other. When we first attended we felt welcomed at Central. There are many opportunities to be involved and feel a part of what Church is all about (people). The Bible is taught and each person in leadership shows by example what it means to “Love God and Love Others”. Children and youth are very much a part of our church all kinds of activities throughout the year great staff that make it fun to learn about Christ. Being a member here is not just our name on the books, we are part of the family that cares and loves us. Come and see, I think you will love it here.

Central Christian Church in St. Petersburg, FL is a very friendly and loving church. People are doing the work of God here and sharing the love of Jesus. There are many opportunities to get involved, such as the children's ministry or youth ministry. I have helped in the children's ministry and it is a very loving and safe environment. The children learn about Jesus and how His love applies to their lives and the world around them. The worship service is casual, yet powerful, in that the music, communion and teaching will make you feel the presence of God and give you strength to make it through the week to come.
