Vegetables were not fresh like they used to be. Everything looked wilted and old. Prices have increased as product quality has diminished. Customer service used to include a smile or a kind word and now the atmosphere feels obsessive. So disappointed.

Smaller than the newer Publix stores around us, this is a wonderful place to shop. I interact weekly with 3 departments. All are excellent. Deli, Seafood and the Bakery. Bobby, in Bakery, was willing to experiment to make a bread I like larger and more sandwich-like. Special effort by his bakers to use a "loaf" pan to get the best out of the 100% Whole Wheat, 5 Grain bread. It is nice to have that customer service.

Great location. Was in and out pretty fast. The place was well stocked had great prices and staff was pleasent to deal with and knowledgable.

I was in Publix at Loch Leven shopping center, Mount Dora, FL, yesterday. I was looking for chicken livers, but I found none on the display. So, I asked the meat department manager, a gentleman with black hair and considerable girth in his 40's, if there were any in the back. He disappeared for a few minutes, then came out to tell me they had none. I said it has been like a week, and I wondered if the store no longer carries chicken livers. He explained it was the problem with the supplier. He then said: "You might want to check across the street." I asked: "You mean Key Food?" He replied: "Yeah, they sell lower grade chicken so they may have some." Wow, I was flabbergasted. He just insulted a leading Latino chain, and me. I am Asian, and like many other Asians, I do eat offal. In my culture, no part of the animal goes to waste, which is a virtue. If he considers people who eat organ meats as consumers of lower grade meats, he just insulted a large part of the Asian people. Dear Publix, do you think a person with lower regards of certain cuts of meat than the others should be put in the position of the meat manager? I like your store and I shop there almost every other day because the staff are friendly. But this just soured the whole experience. He works in the service sector, he should hide his racism and discrimination and keep his big mouth shut. So, I went across the street and bought some "very low grade" chicken livers, a few bell peppers, and an onion. I went home and cooked 爆炒鸡肝, which my sons who has “very low grade” taste buds loves, as much as he loves foie gras.
