I been shopping there since they were located in Downtown Philly. The furniture is very nice and any purchase is donated. They also need volunteers

The quality of the purchases my family & I have made, have been over our expectations. The team that works their is very welcoming and helpful, even giving other ideas for purchases we have made instead of just the normal. I have to control myself when going there because there is so much to choose from my imagination goes in overdrive. We love the live every Thursday & Saturday the team looks like they are having so much fun I look forward to watching!

Most pieces are extremely over priced especially since there are visible signs of items being used. Example a 4 panel room divider was prices over $200. A small picture priced at $55. You would get better pricing shopping at any Habitat for Humanity and get new and/or very gently used pieces that are in excellent condition and priced fairly. I am an Interior Designer looking for unique pieces for my clients and I was very disappointed. I've sourced better pricing at industry stores.

Friendly staff and cool pieces. Fun to browse through. Got myself a colander, picture frame, cutting board, some silverware, and a candle :)

Yes, they pick up furniture free of charge
Hi Queen Ree! Thanks for reaching out! Uhuru Furniture is a 501c-3 nonprofit that picks up donated furniture and other household items. We make an appointment and 2 men come in and remove the pieces. The donations are sold to benefit the economic development and self-determination programs of the African People's Education and Defense Fund APEDF.org). For more info check our website uhurufurniturephilly.blogspot.com and go to the donate tab. Thanks! Ruby
They will come get it
We do pick up furniture and it's no charge all pick ups are free
Mattresses have to be wrapped in a a special wrapper you get from the Streets Department and picked up by them. This is a result of the bedbug problem. I am 90% sure no one will take them for that reason
Yes we have a lot of side tables! Our sale through Jan 31 is buy one get one 25% off storewide. We are open Tues-Sun 11am-6pm closed Mondays. You can see pictures of many of our pieces at uhurufurniturephilly.blogspot.com or come on over and see for yourself! Thank you for your support for the African People's Education and Defense Fund.
Thanks for reaching out to us, Barbara. We do not take the older-style large-backed types of television, only modern flatscreens.
