Great immersive experience and an amazing guided tour. The kids had a blast (literally, they were able to “fire” a cannon inside). As you walk through the museum, everything is setup so that you feel like you are walking through a real pirate ship. It’s definitely not your typical museum. The kids were encouraged to take a map from the front desk and look for certain things. At the end, if they had completed it they got a little gold (fake) coin from a treasure chest. They loved it. The grownups had a great time learning all the facts about pirates and it was very informative. There are hardly any museums I can say for fact I would take my kids to (8, 4, 3 years old) but this one is the exception. It was great for both children and adults and would 100% recommend it

If you’re looking for loads of family fun, I highly recommend the St. Augustine Pirate museum. There are numerous interactive historical puzzles, scavenger hunts, audio stories, and hidden treasure to be discovered! The museum has authentic pirate artifacts ranging from weapons, treasure, tools, flags, clothing, and lots more. The staff is very kid friendly, the museum is throughout a pirate ship so you never lose the feeling of being at sea with your first mate. All in all, great for family fun, my daughter absolutely had a blast, awesome Hollywood pirate display, and they have a lovely gift shop.

This place was unexpectedly awesome!!! The displays were well done AND they had a ton of real artifacts ranging from the 1600s to 1800s. I would 100% recommend visiting if you happen to live in the area and have never been or if you're just visiting the area.

This museum was awesome! Informative, educational and hands on fun. Find the hidden treasure markers throughout the exhibit and claim pirate treasure at the gift shop. Seriously if your gonna spend the money go here and see the cool exhibits that are interactive .

I saw someone using one while there but it is a bit congested.
Parking? In old town? Heh ... heheh ... hehe .... hahahahahhahah
I don't think they allow pets in there. I would call and ask before going. I didn't see any small dogs in there when I was there. Sorry I wasn't much help 🤷🏻
Tickets were $9.99 per child and I think $16 per adult (I don't remember exactly) children under 5 are free. It took us about an hour to do the museum but it can be done faster or slower depending on how much you stop to read.
There is a parking garage a short distance away ($12.00 i think) but if you leave, you have to pay again. Also parking on street - ticket meters every block or so - cheaper, but only good for 3 hours, so watch the clock and go back or ticket issued. (Display on Dash of vehicle.
Yes
They can be bought on arrival
Most definitely, there are interactive things for kids to do in the museum. Also there is a guided tour lead by Captain Mayhem, he is very funny and gets us involved in the tour. Even after the tour you can stay until you want to leave. They give you a treasure map, so you have fun finding all of the things on it. Don't miss the drawers and boxes. Kids can light off a fake cannon. It is definitely worth going, and of course, gift shop on the way out and pic options out front!!!
My adult daughter and I loved it! Full of history and real artifacts that are very interesting.
Fun for children of all ages, and I am Barnacle Bill the Sailor ...
It is self guided. I would say at least an hour especially if you want to do some reading up on the pirates and if it is busy. Kids have treasure hunt too.
They have some artifacts from the Atocha as well as some of the treasure found on the wreck...
There is a pier right across the street.
It's not too far from the port as it's in the walking distance from the port to the museum.
