This is the 1st facility that listened to me even though the doctor did not. The staff stood by my side as we continued to learn from each other. I healed more than I was expecting, and conquered more fears than I wanted to. But this place proved that I was not the problem and gave me hope again.

Had to commit my son via ex parte order this week. Facility would not answer any extension. He's having psychotic breaks, self-medicating, and he was released yesterday without a diagnosis or any follow-up care. You were our last resort.

Staff are rude from the front desk, nurses, and up to the doctor. They will give you different reasons in one phone call, transfers your call to different people just so they can be off the phone then the call drops. No one gives update and does not want to do their job. Both nurses and doctors… they don’t care. No compassion for the patient and the parents… scary place for the kids to be… to think the place is called personal enhancement through mental services… the more your patient gets depressed… tried to transfer my patient but they won’t let you…not a good place to be, beware everyone.

my brother was here and he told me that the workers would call the wrong number on purpose so that you can't speak to your family. I didn't get a call from him when he was there. They are lazy workers who don't care about children. This place is as bad as detention centers at the border. He came crying and traumatized. When a child cries in front of the workers, they just stare at you and act like your not human.

Horrible place. Terrible staff wont help you and won't let you out even if you volunteerely go there. Like a prison.

I’ve heard nothing but horror stories about this place! Even the staff quietly told me that it was not a place for your loved ones if you can help it!!

To the one who reapplied, "you get what you pay for" most in they're don't pay, they have no insurance. As a suffer myself from mental illness I've been held both uninsured and insured. There is a difference but at least this is a place when neede

I don't think this is a question but yes bring uninsured has it's drawbacks but maybe we should be advocating for universal healthcare rather than blaming a broken system.

How can I visit my my son?

If it is an adult; visiting hours are from 7pm-8pm every day with an additional visiting hour from 2pm-3pm on Wednesdays, Saturday and Sunday. If it is a minor child and you are the legal Guardian, the same evening hours apply. Every day from 7pm-8pm with an additional visiting hour from 1pm-2pm on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. You have to check in to building H in the back of the campus. Show ID and get a visitor sticker to visit. They will point you in the direction of the appropriate unit. Snacks and food are allowed. No bones (chicken, pork chop, steak, etc.), no unsealed drinks, and no home cooked food. What is brought must be consumed during that visiting hour. If you are visiting a minor child, you must be the legal guardian. If not, the legal guardian has to provide approval. Visitors must be 18 years of age or older and proper identification is required to ensure the safety and security of all Patients. Hope this helps! 👌

Just picked my kid April 1st 2018 EASTER SUNDAY to find him covered in bed bug bites, I'm disgusted. If I was employed here you couldn't even pay me enough, bites from bed bugs are awful. How can a facility for mental health have bed bugs?

Pamela Martin | Aug 31, 2018
Daniel McAllister | Aug 31, 2019

When I brought a patient there clothes, they heat treated then for bed bugs. The place is an older building made mostly of concrete block. The bugs would be coming in from the patients, not from the facility itself. Given the high turnover rate of patients (because they are an evaluation facility) I'm not surprised they would have a bug problem (THIS IS FLORIDA!), but they DO appear to be aware of it and are doing what they can to combat the problem.

Is there a way to check if someone is in Pehms if they're over the age of 18 or no? If so how does that work? Do you have to be immediate family or can it be a girlfriend of 3+ years?

With hippa it can not be said if someone is there or not....but you can call and leave a message and if the person is there they can call you back
