Entrapment. I willingly chose to be admitted. Fairwinds took my keys, and searched my luggage. Day 1 I was placed in the last room down the hall quite a ways from the Nursing office. I was not monitored. My heart went into arrhythmia and they were not aware until I walked down the hall to Nursing and reported my symptoms. That is dangerous. Finally, I was transferred by ambulance to a local ICU. I spent several days in ICU. My Fairwinds therapist was MIA related to her own health issues. I came down with bronchitis, reported it and was not treated. After my 28 days, my insurance would not pay for extended treatment. Fairwinds was pressuring me to self-pay and of course, that was beyond my ability. I sought discharge and was ignored. Fairwinds held my keys hostage until the 11th hour when my taxi was awaiting to take me to the airport for home. I should have called law enforcement.. Beware people!!

Fairwinds has been the best ever for me and I highly recommend it to anyone needing a daul diagnosis treatment program

Great place , was there in 2013. Still living free from drugs and alcohol! Very attentive. To those posting negative remarks, the world doesn’t revolve around you. You have to want to change. Stop blaming everyone every time you do not get what you want. Just listen and let God take you to the life you were meant to live. Rehabs are not resorts catering to your feelings. They are meant as a starting point to a new life with new perceptions of people and places and things .

If you are smart, you will go elsewhere! Please! My daughter went there for Eating Disorder treatment. She lost over 20lbs in just over a month, and landed in the hospital. They have poorly trained staff, that do not return your calls. My daughter required tube feedings, and they didn't even have enough pumps in the building! They had to rotate them between patients! No wonder she was losing weight. I am an RN, and had a lot of questions about my daughter's care, and they did not like it, because they could not answer them. They are used to many people coming from out of state, and just collecting their insurance money until it runs out. My daughter's insurance company was losing patience with them, as they should have...since her condition declined horrendously in their care. They waited until her last day of insurance, and Baker acted her, and sent her by police to PEMS, and then to the hospital. The BA was rescinded, and the psychiatrist said they NEVER should have baker acted her! There is SO much more about this place that is unsafe! They keep adolescents and adults together....and just tell them not to talk to one another.LOL Right! How unsafe. A man kissed my daughter while she was in their care, and highly sedated on multiple sedatives! She was NOT protected in their care! PLEASE...do not put your loved one in their care, if you care about them. They will not be safe. I am a knowledgeable RN and mother that cares about my child. I had to put a star to finish this but, I would put Zero!
