The most rude place I’ve ever been!! I wasn’t even selling my clothes, I was there for buying but the guy HUNTER is the most rude and disrespectful person, I thought it was just with me but reading all the reviews it looks like it’s nothing new, and I also think he’s the manager or owner of the Plato’s closet Bradenton because he is the one who runs their social media. I really hope you read this hunter, If you don’t like to be in costumer service what are you doing there??? People have done nothing to you to be rude with the people who give you something to eat $$$

I've been here so many times in the last four years. They definitely cater to a size zero. They never buy any clothes, even name brand, tags on, good quality stuff like Express or H&M. It's just always a disappointing trip.

I walked in and was immediately stared at and I received no greeting from either of the store associates, way to make me feel welcome. It wasn’t till I said hello that the guy (might possibly use they/them pronouns idk)there immediately began telling me how they weren’t accepting anything in plastic. In my mind I was stunned that I couldn’t even receive a greeting in return, like hello I’m a customer. I said alright can I at least carry in the items and again I was shut down. It’s fine if that’s your policy but express that in a more positive way because since it wasn’t it left a bad taste in my mouth. The environment was very hostile, would not recommend visiting there, better off elsewhere.

This store is fine to shop in, they have a good selection of clothes and is fairly clean. However, I had the worst experience bringing clothes here. I’ve witnessed in the past while shopping there that anyone who brings in clothes is treated as an inconvenience. With that in mind, I called first and asked if I’d be able to bring in clothes that day, and asked what types they were currently taking. When I brought in my clothes, I mentioned I had a few other bags in the car and the lady I spoke with was very nice, she informed me I could only drop off one bag at a time but when I came back to not close out my account for the money and drop off another bag. A couple hours later I got a text saying they were ready. When I came back, a man (possibly had they pronouns) was helping me and was EXTREMELY rude. He told me that I could only drop off one bag per day and made me check out. I got a whopping $12 for the huge bag of really nice clothes that I brought in. I asked the reasoning they couldn’t take the other items and they told me they don’t take anything older than two years. He also said that you could find many of those items at Walmart, a lot of the clothes I had brought in were name brand and very expensive. When I got the bag back it was very clear they only rummaged through the first few items on top and not the whole bag. I spent days going through my closet picking out the nicest things to bring to have them not even looked at. I could not believe the service I received and left crying at the time I had wasted just to bring them all to goodwill donation. That was months ago. I’ve waited to write this review so that it was honest and not filled with emotion. This is a fine place to shop, but don’t bother bringing in your clothes. I refuse to come back and give these people my money.

Anyone know how much they pay for miss me jeans
Not only do they demonstrate poor customer service when it comes to the items they're selective with choosing, they also treat their dedicated staff of many, many, MANY years very poorly. Consider yourself fortunate to have only been impacted by them refusing your clothes, and not being displaced from work only a few short DAYS after giving birth to your child. Mind you, they guaranteed you a job and income to support your child when you went out on short term maternity leave. I would never do business with such an establishment.
You can always call and ask what we are buying. We buy what we need for a particular season. Sometimes we are buying all seasons. There are many reasons for not purchasing clothing. Age of the item, condition, whether it is what we are buying at the time. Don't give up on Plato's Closet we buy thousands of items per year. The more you visit us the better you will know and see what we will buy.
