OMG... these people should be embarrassed and ashamed of the service they offer. To think that it's my hard earned tax dollars paying these jackas*'s salary. I wish someone with the ability/authority to make some changes would take notice and fire them. Re-vamp this old system and eliminate the leaches mooching our tax dollars. Bunch of bums.

The incompetence at this place is beyond explanation. It’s by far the worst government run facility I've ever experienced. They all need to be fired & get people in their that know what there doing. At least when you screw up have the decency to answer a phone & correct your incompetence.

This licensing board is a JOKE. They will not respond to emails, they will not respond to phone messsages. They should all be fired and bring in people who will do the job for pinellas contractors. The same old people have worked there for years and only there to collect a paycheck. Someone in the county should step up and clean up this mess. After a whole month after we have paid to renew our license we are still waiting for the paper license to be mailed. My only next step is to go there physically and if I have to I will explode on them. DO YOUR DAMN JOB.

Never in my life have I never been able to get a hold of someone for something so simple! Pamela Glad was on vacation so I gave her the benefit of a doubt but now 2 weeks later and she responds to one email then ignores my question.. Wow and no way possible to get anyone on the phone to even speak to anyone else! What a joke!! Looks like they will be seeing my face at the office!

You can check to see if someone is a licensed contractor and ready to contract for construction or home improvement in Pinellas County by visting www.PCCLB.com and using our search engine. At the top right margin of the page click on the picture with 2 people shaking hands in front of the trusses "Contractor Search" "Search for lists of contractors/specialty contractors" hotlink. Use the drop down menus to filter and select the type of contractor you are looking for. The checkbox at the top is set by default to only show actively licensed contractors.
Yes they do
Sometime between 9a.m. & 5p.m., there's no real sweet spot.
The books can vary depending on the test provider. Once your application is approved, you will be given a list of test providers and they will give you a list of the books used to provide content for their tests.
Yes, the 3 different specialty licenses that would be a good fit are Carpentry, Finish Carpentry, and Cabinetry in that order from greatest scope to least. Carpentry includes the scope of all 3, and Finish Carpentry includes the scope of Cabinetry. Cabinetry does not include finish carpentry or framing. The application is on our website www.pcclb.com and it has the number of years of experience required
Actually Journeyman is not a license, it is a competency. If compensation is involved, or the work requires a permit, or if the value of the work exceeds $500, it needs a licensed contractor.
In Pinellas County there is no such license as a Handyman.
I dont believe so. I would go there to verify though.
1st you must submit an application to pinellas county Florida to be approved then you get paperwork that shows you what books and where the testing is you must take a Florida state test and then you get your license

The license reciprocity process is very straight forward, meets as needed, reviews for an existing license that has an equitable competency process and our fees are on par with peer agencies based on a relatively recent survey.
At this time there is no such license but we are looking into developing one.
