Great PA State Park. Sinnemahoning! Visited with family of 4. Great Willife viewing areas. Someone should suggest viewing particular areas at dawn and dusk..ππ.guaranteed something worth observing at any of these viewing areas during those times. We were not disappointed. Beaver, frogs, deer, mink, and eagle's. Interactive wildlife center. Worth visiting at less crowded times. We stayed in the park for 2 nights, no cell service. And DO come supplied with what you need for camping. Not much nearby in terms of emergency anything.

Had a fabulous Women in the Wilds weekend!! So many fun and interesting things to do! Great staff and volunteers. Will definitely attend again.

Beautiful state park. Visitor center is one of the nicest I have ever been to! Some hiking available. Lake is beautiful, and plenty of good fishing spots also. Lots of wildlife to see in the area.

Sinnemahoning is an excellent spot for car campers to enjoy the Elk State Forest/PA Wilds region. It was a quiet sleep (a little gravelly for tents, but not bad) with dark skies for stargazing. The park staff was knowledgeable and super friendly. Tracy answered my sisterβs 500 plant identification questions with cheerful patience. Will definitely be back. And we saw a bear!

It is a day use area. You may want to contact the park to ask if there are exceptions.
I believe dogs are not permitted. But, if you are traveling with your dog he/she must remain on a leash and under your control at all times so the wildlife is not disturbed.
Yes. Keep your coolers in your camper or vehicle when you are not at the campsight.
Yes it does. Make sure you set Google Maps to download the directions before setting off. Also it's a good idea to download the map for the entire area in case you need to detour off your route.
The main Creek is the first fork sinnemahonig creek. I have not heard of a Penns Creek in that area. The only penns Creek i know of starts down near Lewistown and heads east.
