This place was pretty cool. The cabins were nice, they had nice walking trails, and they had a cool lighthouse. The beds were not very comfortable, though.

Very pretty state park. 3 or 4 different sections to visit. Reasonable entrance fee. Sad to see so much trash along the beach line washed up but that's just the current human condition I guess. Regardless, the park ranger we spoke to was so incredibly pleasant and helpful and she genuinely seemed to enjoy her job.

Always a lovely place to take a walk with beautiful scenery! Today we saw a lot of small wildlife, too, including a blue-tailed 5-lined skink, two box turtles, a bunch of different butterflies and dragonflies, a soaring bald eagle, and a decent-sized constrictor (blacksnake?) getting ready to molt. 🐢🦅🐍🦋

The park is absolutely beautiful. The campground is nice, with easy access to the bathrooms and showers. Some spots even have views of the water (though it can be hard to see through the trees). The trails are a lot of fun, not too long but still adventurous. You really have to pay attention to the spray painted tree signs though. My friend and I nearly got lost on the Beaver Marsh Loop, even with a paper map to guide us. Its also a great place for bird watching. A Bald Eagle flew right over me, no more than 20 or 30ft above, it was incredible. I wasn't even looking for birds it just happened to fly out of a tree nearby. There's a list of other amazing birds you can see there too. The little beach is really nice too, though watch your feet because there's rocks all on the shore. All around, its a great place to visit

Yes, when I called the park, they said it was one of the trails affected by the summer hurricane:(
Pretty sure they are allowed throughout the park as long as they are leashed.
You can fish from the shore, but its not the same as surf fishing. So, no its not.
It's a good bit you can't walk there.
I believe you can, as long as you can clean up and it's mobile. Not a huge grill or barrel
