If it wasn't for this place, we be up to our necks in our our waste. Pretty amazing operation from their energy generation system off of gases produced during waste processing to the amazing amount of sieving. ozonation etc that makes all that waste fairly safe to go in the bay.

Yes. It all goes down your drain, to your sewer, and into the collection system. Then it all ends up at the main wastewater treatment plant.

Where does the water come from

This is a wastewater treatment plant, however you may be asking about drinking water. Three large aqueducts transport the water all the way from Camanche Reservoir, which is filled by the snow runoff from the Sierra Mountains. The water is then treated at various reservoirs in the East Bay, and distributed throughout the drinking water system.
