I am very disappointed in this auction house. I participated in their February 19 2022 auction. Many of the ethnographic lots in the auction were presented in only one photograph of a heaping pile of items lying down and mixed up. I requested to see the photographs of the lots separated. I was then sent photographs of mixed lots with many of the good items still not shown. Some of the lots even went as far as having a pieces of paper covering the items beneath. I purchased one lot of items of which I could see most of the items and had no papers covering the items. Later to find out the lots I had requested to see a photo of had many items of interest. But for whatever reason, I was not shown the items when I had requested a photograph. later I see the items resurface on eBay selling for thousands of dollars. I am disappointed from a buyers perspective of this auction house, but would be very disappointed as a customer to this auction house. If they were my items that have been consigned and presented like that. It’s no wonder why the lot would sell for $100 and then be resold for thousands when the items are actually able to be seen. Not sure of the motive behind the presentation of this auction house, but question the integrity of the company.

I went in person to an auction in July, and the experience couldn't have been better. The staff was friendly and helpful from beginning to end. I bought 2 great mid century pieces of furniture, and I'll be sure to go back again!

Hello! I asked two mailing companies to quote, their mailing price is too high, I decided to give up bidding! Because of the high cost of mailing (packaging and service fees are too high), the value of the goods themselves is not worth it. So, give you a suggestion, limit the price of the mailing company, or send it by your own company. In this way, the cost of mailing will be reduced, which is beneficial to bidders, promotes their purchase, and is also good for your auction. If the freight price is high, a large number of people may not dare to bid! Hope you guys consider it!

Clars is a complete scam operation. We came in with a screen print and a precious gemstone and Had already seen two other appraisers for our items. With the painting we were informed that we could sell it for nearly 700 dollars at auction with another auction house. We went to Clars and they informed us it was only worth 100 dollars. I couldn't believe it, Clars was trying to rob me and my wallet. Now, with the gemstone I brought, the lady didn't even look at it. Another auction house said it was worth nearly 2 grand. This lady at Clars told us it was worthless and would only sell for about 200 dollars. I could not believe this place is still in Business, Shocked how many people have given this 5 stars.

Every Thursday 9am-Noon free evaluation clinic (up to 5 items). Or by appointment M-F.
Clars Gallery hosts a free appaisal clinic every Thursday from 9-12. You can bring up to 5 items for the specialist's to view. An excellent resource for the public to learn the value of Fine Art, decorative, Jewelry and Asian items.
Good Luck! The more realistic price you might get is $200 to $300. Clars Auction generally places a low estimate which will have a low opening bid. There is also the chance that they might refuse to accept the item for auction. If the item does sell you will not receive the net funds until 5 weeks after the auction.
Hi Robert, That looks like a very old consignor number and unfortunately we no longer have access to those records.
Hello, the auction house offers free appraisal services for people who want to consign with them. Please call them directly to make an appointment. I am a customer of the auction gallery and not associated with them. I hope this helps and good luck!
Dear Ray, We have handled sports memorabilia in the past; however, new laws have placed restrictions on how these items can be represented to buyers. If you have the proper certificates to go anlong with your photograph, we would be happy to give you an evaluation.
Go to class. They will give a verbal estimated. Price and put up for auction. Call.then for times .
Hi Celia, our only location is in Oakland, CA. If you are looking to consign please call our main office to speak with a specialist or visit clars.com to submit photos.
