I don’t want to give it any stars but in order to leave a comment I have to. Caleb the owner has figured out every way possible to add cost to your camping. They do not have copies of all the rules and regulations as they change constantly. You must look them up on the web site. Again it changes often. We arrived at 11am this morning. Checked in and paid. I collect change every year just to pay for camping. So I gave them 82.00 in change and $16.00 in cash! $15.00 of this was a early arrival fee. We get everything set up, taking a break and 2 of the office workers showed up and told us we had to pay $20.00 for campsite deposit. I spoke to Caleb the night before and let him know that I’d be arriving early, he said that was fine. Never said there would be a extra charge. So I paid an additional $20.00 and had to sign a document regarding the $20.00 for deposit. The camp site was dirty with trash when we arrived. My wife cleaned it while I set up the camper. We ran to town for dinner, got it to go and were setting down to eat when someone knocked on the door. I answered and it was Caleb. He said he needed to talk to me. I went out and he said I had made some comments to his workers and he had heard them because he has cameras and recording devices all over the campground. Caleb told me to pack it up and get out! I ask if we could eat our supper first and he said NO! The only thing I said to the workers was with the constant changing of rules and regulations I would not be back. Memorial Day weekend while we were camping a friend stopped by to visit for a bit, Caleb said he would need to go to the office and pay $15.00 to visit. It didn’t matter how long he stayed he had to pay to visit. So our friend left.

The campground and shower facilities were clean and easy to access. The location was beautiful and staff were friendly. We camped for two nights and were beyond displeased at how 2 very unfortunate incidents were handled. Night 1, there was a guest that was physically abusive with his significant other, that incident was handled after several hours and the guest eventually left around 3am. Night 2, a group of guests were extremely loud, using foul language and driving back and forth through the campground at very high speeds, endangering all campers. Someone from the campground attempted to get the guests the quite down, but eventually left and allowed these guests to continue their loud rants. Our experience is this campground is NOT Family Friendly. When camping, you expect to hear others music and even loud rowdiness. You do not expect for the owners/management to allow this behavior to endanger families. We have enjoyed Current River for many years and camped several times at other campgrounds, most places get these types of guests under control or they are asked to leave, as was the guest on night 1. In the future, we will be more careful about selecting a campground.

Very pleasant campground. Sites were gravel but very level. Every site had ample shade. We did not feel packed in at all. The two young men running the office were extremely kind and helpful. P.s. this is the first review I've written in over 30 years, so you know they impressed me.

Everything was good. Bathrooms are clean and showers are nice. However, they did not give us a picnic table or fireplace when we asked for one. After our neighbors left we had to take their picnic table. Otherwise a great place to stay. They also have nice river access!

Everywhere. Whole place is under old growth river trees. Not much sun until you get out on the water.
Thanks for asking Pauline! We definitely recommend making reservations as far in advance as possible to ensure availability on the dates you’re interested in. To reserve a campsite please call the office at 573-870-0759!
$30 for 2 people, $15 per additional person
There is firewood but, you have to pay for it and when I went I just brought my own
They do offer riverfront camping but you won't want to start at the camp. The float south is very slow and boring. You will want to put up the river and end at the camp. You can find a map on The Landing Current River website (this is the outfitter directly across the river like 30 ft from the campsite). They can shuttle you and make it easy. If you want a riverfront campsite call and reserve in advance since they are the first to go. Have a blast.
Near yes, we fit 8 good size tents with extra room. The best river front sites don't have electric though. Still good options. Call them for more info and get your reservation down. They get packed.
No
