Very picturesque hike that will take you on a moderately steep slope, up and around beautiful hills and meadows. Stunning views everywhere you turn, lots of crows and other birds, though not much shade and can get very hot in summer. Best to start early. The highight of our hike was a close encounter with mating snakes of zebra pattern not typical of rattlesnake. Creepy but beautiful the way they move.

Great hiking trails. Lots of steep rolling hills. Good amount of parking in the lot or on the side of the road. Can get very windy at the top. I'll make sure to bring or take my allergy medication. Great place to see flowers in the Spring. We saw many lizards, grasshoppers, and butterflies. Cows were out in the distance. Great views and resting spots.

Nestled in the quiet and beautiful Bollinger Canyon. I went after the traffic back home was at a halt so I decided to go for a nearby hike instead. It was just me and the nature during my time spent here. Didn't have proper shoes so will go back soon again to complete the elevation.

This place has gorgeous view. I love bring my kids hiking there. It's easy enough for my 3 year old and my 20 year old with a knee problem.

Why are there signs on bolonger canyon road that say park district respect the neighbors

So that you don't disturb their neighbors who have private property that backs up against the park and sometimes in close proximity to trails. So don't go thru gates that are closed, or venture onto their private property. Don't break the park rules, dont litter, dont play loud music, dont be obnoxious, etc.
