Beautiful and very large park with plenty of wildlife (deer, coyotes, etc.). Very extensive network of trails with incredible views of the Bay from the upper ridge area. Nice nature center too, with some stuffed critters and live snakes!

Pretty nice place for hiking or picnic. Went there twice.. on one side there is a vista point you can view the bay, the other side has a valley with big meadow which reminds me the Yosemite valley. There is also a lake you can see water birds and people fishing. $6 to enter but it is much less crowded than Rancho where we could not find a parking spot on Sunday.

Beautiful place for a medium-intensity hike that is kid-friendly. This is becoming a regular spot for family hikes because of the beautiful sites and varies pathways. Take note: entrance fee is $6/car.

I am told that this place was recently open to public. It used to open to only Palo Alto residents. This is a huge place. We spent a half of the day and only saw a small portion of the park. The parking is easy in the morning and free. But they limit the number of vehicles so you will not be allowed to enter if that number is reached. We fell this park is not really good for hiking. First of all, lots of road have one lane for car. If you walk on that road, we feel it’s not very safe. Second, there is not enough sign for you. At one time, we can not even find the bathroom. I believe the park needs more people to maintain. Maybe they should collect an entrance fee for vehicles.

Why is this park for Palo Alto residents when it is located in Los Altos Hills?

Andrea Gudmundsson | Aug 30, 2019
William Diaz | Aug 29, 2020

Well if its outside Palo Alto then good luck trying to enforce a residents only policy when the city of residence of the park isn't even in the city. Oh and my SF address on my ID, thats just a mailing address too....
