Don’t forget your water bottle, hat and sun screen It’s hot and hilly on this Safari park. The it’s nice and jungly. They try to have spray mist as much as possible to keep you cool. There is a small area for little children to play with water. The tram is the best park where it is like a safari through the side of where some of the animals roam, it is safe. It’s beautiful to learn and emerge yourself in that moment of the samples of the habitats of the animals. I bought the annual pass for my family since it is the best value over all.

Such a hidden gem! We really enjoyed our first visit to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park in Escondido, despite the warm summer temperatures. The heat kept the crowds away. Arrive early to get good parking and then make the trek to the African Tram as your first stop so that you can catch all the animals while it’s still cooler outside. We were lucky enough to catch a cheetah run very unexpectedly! Also delighted to see the 50 year old male gorilla and the tigers make an appearance! Lots of 50th Anniversary specialty menu items and merchandise in the shops. Definitely go to The Watering Hole for a great sit-down meal with the most amazing view! Tiger Trail has an amazing kids play area and also a cool mist area to sit and relax when it gets too hot.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! They are a non-for profit so everything you spend from the tickets, food and souvenirs helps the animals. They did a great job with the park set up, tons of land for the animals. It is beautiful and the staff really cares about the animals. Great way to see animals and not feel guilty doing it. While they are in captivity, they have adequate space. On the tram ride the driver said they have had the highest success rate of any park with endangered animals reproducing. They talked about the white rhino being down to 2 females and they have scientists working to "Jurassic Park" it and create a male white rhino. The goal is for 1 of the 2 females to carry the male rhino, if successful. Now that is cool! We met a senior couple there and they said during the week seniors were free. Not sure if this is all the time or just during the month of Feb (2022) or just a special promotion. This is a great place to go for all ages!

Great time to spend entire day!! But the general Tram is different and doesn't take you quite close to animals like normal safaris do. They have special reservation and tours for that! It was quite similar to Zoo also, but overall good experience. Currently they have quite few attractions temporarily not available - cheetah run, flight line, etc. African tram is working and fun time. Overall I wouldn't give it to 5 stars since I was expecting more from safari, but good place.
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
I would think about getting annual pass if you have plan to go more than once and if you are going with someone. We have keeper club pass which includes two adults annual passes plus two free 1 day passes and free parking at Safari.
They have wheelchairs, strollers, and motorized carts for rent.
Also Evan Sky be a little mindful that person asking a question might be a foreign speaking a different language... so that's why the spelling is wrong ...don't just start attacking somebody right away...
Weekdays are lessbusy, memorial day weekend is very much crowded.
There's also one with some water features down by the cheetah run that's great on hot days to let the little cool off.
Yes they are one and the same. Old name wild animals park and the new name is San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
We parked in front of the natural history building in Balboa Park for free. Short walk to zoo
Yes. The souvenir cups work at both locations.
I always pack our lunch. There are plenty of picnic tables around the park to enjoy your food.
I went sat oct 10. Arrived at 11 am, took about 15 mins to pay and park (line to get in) and another 15 mins to walk, get tickets and enter park. I recommend getting there earlier than I did.
It depends on how long the kids like to be at stuff and how much you like to walk. The wild animal park is huge and has tons to look at so if the kiddos are content being pushed or carried around and/or you are ok with slow walking then yes, go for it. We took our little ones there (many years ago....) And they loved it.
Per the website: Yes! Guests may bring personal food items into our parks. Large food storage containers such as coolers are not permitted on grounds, and no facilities are available for food storage. For the convenience of guests, there are picnic areas located outside the Zoo's main entrance and near the Safari Park's entry plaza within easy walking distance of our parking lots. Zoo and Park guests who have already entered our parks may get their hand stamped for re-entry on the same day of their visit during operating hours. Special accommodations for school groups may be made. For the safety of guests and the animals in our care, please do not bring glass, alcohol, or straws into our parks.
Kids under three are free. I think its 🐨 koala club at 3 and up.
First Timers must see: Cheetah run- usually around 3pm and safari tour. Also very worth while to visit lemurs (you get to walk inside their exhibit!).
There is nothing on their website to indicate they offer an AARP discount, but they do offer a senior discount of 10%on the 1-day pass
Hello George, have you checked the website or tried calling to find out any information?
There is a Safari ride(aka Tran) that comes free with your ticket where the animals are out in their open environment. Otherwise you get a map of the zoo and walk. It is pretty large and full of hills so ware good walking shoes and streatch before and after. Lil ones will want a stroller or wagon as it will probably be a bit much for them and it it typically very hot 85° plus...100° is not uncommon. Great fun and well worth the trip and time.
9am to 6pm
@Elvia Gutierrez the trams are available. But all the fun stuff besides the safari is off limits. I was there sunday and the trams were operating.
Yes, just be safe and cautious
15 dollars regular parking,or add $18. more dollars to get special up close parking.
Yes, you can rent them there.
Yes they have a veiecal that will take you out close to the animals there. Plus they went out strollers if you choose to walk it
I am using the Google translator for this answer, so I apologize if my grammar or wording is incorrect: You can bring food! Some other critic answered a similar question previously: "According to the website: Yes, guests can bring personal food to our parks, large food storage containers, such as refrigerators, are not allowed, and there are no facilities available for storing food. of picnic located "outside the main entrance of the zoo and near the entry plaza of Safari Park, within walking distance of our parking lots. For the safety of the guests and the animals in our care, do not bring glass, alcohol or straw to our parks. "
Yes! Groups of 15 or more paying admission receive a 10% discount off the 1-Day Pass. Groups of 100 or more paying admission receive a 15% discount off the 1-Day Pass. Advance reservations are strongly recommended.
We close now at 5PM Mon-Sun
It is $54 for adults and $44 for children (3-11 yrs) but if you go multiple days then it's cheaper.
If anyone buys a season pass don't put someone on your list. If you don't you can bring a different person every time
The park is well organized and can assist you with various lunching sites. Just call guest services or email them from the website
For the base entry price, you will be able to see an overwhelming amount of animal habitats. As a matter of fact, depending on how much time you take in some areas, you may not see the whole park in one day. As for the extras, if you do any of them, you definitely will not see all parts of the park.
Only to the parking lot. This is not a drive through safari. It's a combination of zoo & safari. You will board a tram to the entrance then hike through the zoo to the rear of tge park then take an elevator down to the safari plains then board. There are multiple ways to trek the safari but are also very expensive depending on your preference and group size.
No there is only customer service
Around $100.00 dlls
There's a kids caravan safari for age 6 and up for $135. I think the tram is all ages.
My parents took me to hall and oats as well as multiple others. I think the area was somewhere dont by where the tram picks you up. It would be neat to see records of those concerts.
About 30 to 40 miles depending on the post of San Diego. 32 miles from where I live by. Balboa park.
Active Duty gets free admission, however dependents do not, but you can buy discounted tickets at the base ITT office.
Yes, the kids will have fun. But keep in mind that there could be long walks between attractions.
Call animal control
They are remaining open as they are outdoor. No you can walk around. There are annual passes starting at 115 for both parks
We did the roar and snore this weekend. There were no lines to get in on Saturday or Sunday for the wild animal park.
Yes, unfortunately.
Yes they are open! Things that were closed when I was there last week: the tram ride, play areas, balloon ride, zip line, and petting zoo. Basically you can see all the animals. Some shops and restaurants were closed too.
The only thing they ask for is the mucus cover, and everything is available!
To get senior discount we bought tickets at the gate. But it is recommended to make reservations and purchases online in advance.
It's a little expensive but the souvenir cup is $15 and you get free refills
Yes, no petting zoo, no face paint, no safari Tram, no cheetah run. A lot of fun still, all the food and beer is good. Water hole if you want to have a special memory
If you call their main phone number it gives you info. If there was a fire in that area the park would ahut down. And that info would be found by calling their number or their website
They're called black-and-white colobuses, not spider monkeys :). They have been moved elsewhere, but location hasn't been revealed at this time.
Yes but I believe there is no re-entry so make sure it's portable enough to carry the whole trip.
Yeah they're open. You can either purchase the safari tour tickets in advance or they have a booth near the Africa Tram that sells them.
They are open. The park opens at 9am everyday
It's all on foot unless you pay for the tours😞
Yes, extended hours are 9am to 8pm July 4th and 5th. Masks MANDATORY 😷.
Adults are $58 3 year old is $48 (both include the tram).
All February
Yes I think so
Only if you bring a VALID PHOTO ID or a Drivers License. Otherwise YES. FEBURARY 2020 is free for Seniors if you can prove you are one. Make sure to donate to the park as much as you can while you can. The animals will still be here after we are all gone, for the next generation we must preserve at all costs.
Definitely you can see a few babys in the inclosures like the elephants and Africa plain... Also sometimes there is a baby care window with a baby animal inside too, it only has specific hours of showing though so it's best to check when you enter. I don't recall the name of the area, it's near the petting corral. The zoo averages over 300 baby animals a year so I'm sure you'll see at least one!
Yes you can
No it's like animal kingdom in Florida it's another attraction or park
Yeah nice and all but for a senior to go walk in the park once in a blue moon shouldn't cost me over 100.00 at the safari park out where I live but haven't been because of horrible prices..............ok times 2 plus parking $100.00 plus for a walk in the park I don't think so. Get real they need to bring prices down for local seniors it would be nice to drive down the road from here and go there but forgetaboutit.
Yes
October all month I think
I haven't been to the SD zoo in a while but I imagine the zoo likely has more exhibits? I don't know though. It was nice that they had exhibits as well as the safari. It didn't wow me though I did very much enjoy myself. It's very handi capable which mattered to me as I am...physically inconvenienced.
This is the Address for the San Diego Zoo Safari: 15500 San Pasqual Valley Rd, Escondido, CA 92027 and for the San Diego Zoo is: 2920 Zoo Dr, San Diego, CA 92101 Enjoy
Yup! They have a tram car designated for people with disabilities and their party
The park opens at 9:00 a.m. It's less crowded and you will get a Head Start
There are some paths that are for walking only but there is plenty to see from the main paved walkways that are wheelchair friendly
See is asking about an annual pass
Did not like this place at all , over priced Zoo .. Go to a regular Zoo it's probably better....
Here is the website: https://zoo.sandiegozoo.org/tickets
I have only done one. Can't say
I don't know if still going on!!!!
In person at the main entrance offers senior discounts.
You have 2 options to feed giraffes: (1) At the safari park, do a Caravan Safari or Caravan Safari Deluxe tour as people have stated. It's a good tour, and you get a chance to feed a rhino as well in addition to touring through the safari area seeing other animals up close. It costs $125 or so for the first, and $167 or so for the Deluxe. You feed the giraffe long grass from the back of a truck. (2) If all you're interested in is giraffe feeding, they have a giraffe feeding event at the regular zoo (not the Safari Park). Don't recall the cost but I'd guess at $15, and the only difference is that you feed the giraffes cookies from the other side of a fence. The giraffes stick their necks over the fence to take the cookies. It only happens at a certain time of the day and there was a big line up.
2 park pass is about $90 and can be purchased at either park. If you're doing this option, you should consider membership if there's any chance you'd come back within the year.
10 am
We took a backpack full of good and snacks and no one told us anything. There's just alot of walking so you might not want to bring a cooler you will have to carry around.
Regular admission is easy online and no risk of sell out. I am not sure about the extra cost cart and caravan rides. Regular admission does include a 30 min safari ride but if you want the ride where you can possibly touch something it's extra.
You can buy the food I do not think I'll leave it
You need at least 5 hours to explore and enjoy. If you will be back soon, 3 hours will get you the major animal exhibits, or you can take the tram, but I suggest walking. The landscaping and trails are gorgeous and you will enjoy it immensely.
I would say they are equal. It just depends which animals you want to see. The zoo has a lot of jungle animals and the safari has more desert animals.
They have and over night program called "roar&snore" $150+ per person in addition to admission. They have permanent tents that get used. No personal tents
Yes I believe it is a 20% discount
Children under 3-11 pay $ 46. People 12+ pay $ 56. Yes you can take water. Children two and under do not pay trained. The ticket gives you entrance through the park and the "safari tram."
No, unfortunately they do not have kennels available. They do allow service animals if that applies to your pet.
10% off admission
That place can handle a crow any day because it's so big it doesn't feel crowded. I have season passes and have been on holidays. It's always worth going to.
Adult Ages 12+ $56 Child Ages 3-11 $46
As soon as the park opens. I found that it was best to see everything possible before the large crowds arrived.
They used to have great concerts years ago. The only evening events I am aware of is Roar & Snore.
Yes it is a fun day. You get to see these animals in more of a natural environment than at the zoo. I would strongly recommend to take the tram around the park to see many of the larger animals. The newest exhibit "Walkabout Australia" is great as well if you can get in to interact with the Wallabies. A great day.
I remember riding elephants at the San Diego County Fair...not sure how many years ago that was. Not sure if they do that any more.
Prices are on their web site and you can purchase on line. https://www.sdzsafaripark.org/tickets
The only connection with Amtrak is in Oceanside, CA. You have to take the Sprinter to Escondido (60 Min.), then take the route 371 to Ramona, CA. (25 Min.) Then you have to walk to the main entrance.
Madison, visit the website and/or call the park.
Minimum age requirement to use the caravan is 8 years old.
Driving would be your best bet it's about a 40 minute drive from downtown san diego
Yes they do!
Everyone is different. I would give yourself all day to see everything if you have never been before.. Or if you have children. While others come in and hurry through everything in 2 hours. Tons of fun either way you go about your visit!!
This zoo is in the city of Escondido. Depends on where you are coming from, it's more inland.
You have lots of walking in the safari park. But it is tons of fun and worth it!!
Bring ponchos and have fun.
Active duty gets in free with military ID
sure you can we have been when raining just a fun ,if not even more fun ,
$ 56 adult and $ 46 child. There is a parking fee of $ 15.
Military discounts are valid every day of the year, including ALL holidays! Visit as often as you wish!Active duty U.S. Armed Forces personnel receive all the benefits of our 1-Day Pass admission to the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park upon presenting a Common Access Card (CAC) or Uniformed Services ID Card at our gates. Complimentary admission is reserved exclusively for active duty service members upon presenting valid ID
For the record, if you renewed online and you entered your membership number that's on your card, the zoo will NOT send you new passes because your old one will work. You only get new ones if you lost the old one or there is a change of address or something
Yes, if you become a member though, you get it for free.
Yes
Go to zoo.sandiegozoo.org for prices
Yes, open. Not sure about lights.
Go to the sdzoo website. There is a place you can apply to become a volunteer. They are always looking. For both parks. It's wonderful.
They do have volunteer water fowl but you might want to check with the park
Personally the two day pass is the best deal. You can go to both places for like 50% more.
9am-5pm everyday. Summer and some holidays have extended hours.
There is a free tram, but it doesn't go through the whole park. It is also a narrated tour, so try going with different operators to hear different information.
No, a local vets office may or you might find a doggie day care in the area
You buy tickets online: https://www.sdzsafaripark.org/safari/behind-scenes-safari
I believe active duty service members receive complementary admission year around and their family members receive 10% off with military IDs but I don't think there are any discounts if retired. I would go to their FAQ page to double check. Im sure theres something about it there that will clarify everything!
Yes, I got them from Go Card San Diego. You can get tickets for multiple locations, and You can get at a discount and it never expires. You just show the pass on your phone at the door. Www.smartdestinations.com/san-diego-attractions-and-tours/_ptd_Sdo-p1.html You can purchase directly from their website too.
Not going South. Going North it's just North of Camp Pendleton
Nope. You park your car and then enter the safari park (where you can walk, do free bus tours, and also some tours that cost money e.g. ziplines, jeep tours into the enclosures where you can feed giraffes).
Until closing time.A tram is at the Safari Park.
i dont know bit i could sell you a Wheel Chari for $20.00
Yes but only for children 11 and under 12 and up are charged
I think so, but only near the park entrance where all visitor services are. Ask the ticketing agent or the person who scans you at the turnstiles, they should know.
Only restrictions on some of the tours. The website is very helpful
I work there. We do let you bring any food and drink you want in (probably with the exception of alcohol). However, if you arrive with a cup with a straw in it, they will have you remove the straw before going, in for the safety of the animals. And that's the Disposable kind of straws that you get at most fast food places.
30 min with a good driver who stops and points things out
The park has it's own trams that the take you around in the tours. They also have special safari rides that you can pay extra for. But it's like any other park you walk to most exhibit's but there are extra things you can pay for like the other special safari tour that takes you right up to the giraffe's. Also, the zip line tours. Those looked really fun both the up close tours and also the zip line tours. My daughter and I weren't able to go on it this last time, but we are making another trip back just to do those 2 or 3 different tours. It was a great time even without the extra tours. Very informative and very entertaining as well. Would recommend going there. Good times for the whole family.
Its 26.95 if youre a member. kids pay 16.95

The costs are not too expensive, the hours are open from very early to pretty late
I would say the slower you move, the better your joy. I would suggest you get acquainted with the map and make full use of kangaroo bus...(free). Have some fruits, snacks, water handy and take frewuent breaks.
We stayed about 6 hours and did everything. Plan for a hot day during the summer.
No they can't
Yup (not safari area though)
There is a camp ground there. We went during the day so I'm not sure how that works
We were there 5 hours and didn't see everything. It was amazing.
Even though it was blazing hot we stayed 5 hours....there are misters that keep you cool and lits of places to get refreshments. It was a lot of fun
Any one can. You have to go to the front and ask about reservations and they will tell you the price and when they have it
Yes, you can bring food and drinks into the park. If you end up going on a Safari ride to go inside the enclosure to see the animals you arent allowed to bring food or drinks. They will provide ice cold water for everyone.
Parking is currently $15. If you buy the $225 year pass you get parking incl. Plus 10% off snacks and drinks
The Safari Park is more like a wild animal area. Where the zoo is like the walk around and the animal enclosures are closer together. Like if you go on the tram to Africa at the Safari park, it takes you to an area with multiple animals in the same enclosure like you may see in the wild. I don't know if that helps. Plus they have the kangaroo habitat you can walk into and be with them.
There are tables all over the park. And grass area right outside where I've seen many families picnic.
Yes is Safari Park and the zoo have them. For rent. Don't know what they cost
Strollers are allowed on the main path that surrounds the walk about but if you want to go on the trail that cuts directly through the animal enclosure, you must leave your stroller outside
I would say no, just because the park sells for inside and would want to encourage food sales, but you could get away by bringing a backpack and packing it with semi frozen water bottles and food?
They are available to rent on a first come first basis at $45 per day for non-members and $35 for members
There should be a sign directing you...
I'm not sure if they had that particular species but they had more exibits than you could see in one day. Definitely worth the ticket price.
If you have a family and are going to the zoo and safari park, you might want to consider Residence Inn. The rooms all have full kitchens plus breakfast is included.
It is prominently displayed on their home page. Cheers.
I saw 4 black rhinos yesterday and one was a 7 month old.
Active duty with your ID. Still have to pay for parking.
Going zip lining in Catalina free birthday cruise! #solovcatalina
10 am... but it'll be quite a trek to get there. Especially with little kids
No
Safari Park has a team to ride and view various species of animals in their natural habitats. Elephants, giraffes, rhinos, Tigers, lions, cheetahs etc. Look up on their website plus it's a great place to walk, hike and see and feel nature. Great butterfly and bat and lorikeets. Some exhibits only there for short period of time , ie butterflies. We love the Safari Park
Yes, but when is it ever gloomy in San Diego
Yes they do! They have manual and electric wheelchairs available to be rented for the day.
No need to repay. They will help online and over the phone. But if you need it right away go to the ticket booth in front where they will print out a temp.
The tram is free once you are in the park so once you are in you're good.
Yes... for an extra 125$, I believe. It's called the Caravan Safari Adventure and you can do daytime or twilight. Rhinos, too!!
I don't think the tickets are good at both parks. There are more animals at the zoo and alot of new exhibits that just opened. It is good to get the bus pass that allows you to get on and off at seven different stops. You can up close to alot of animals and you don't want to miss the pandas.
I would stay in a hotel in Rancho Bernado or Poway along the 15 freeway, its close to the.park and its not Escondido.
The African Tram ride is included with general admission. You can skip the line for an additional fee ($18). The ride is about 25 to 35 minutes and well worth a short line!
Adults age 12+ at 54 USD and children age 3-12 at 44 USD. Parking 15 USD. All rates for a day.
No reservations are needed for park entry and tram ride. Some of the specialty tours can even be booked same day, but you probably want to schedule those in advance on their website if you plan on doing them.
Yes, but it is seasonal. You can check the website for schedule and hours.
Good question 🤔 I just remember seeing some trees for shade
It depends on how much you want to carry. We spent the whole day there and never felt like we needed them. There's lots to see right in front of you
Keeper's club membership has complimentary general parking included, otherwise it's $15 or $20 for RVs
These are included n the San Diego go card. Cheapest is through costco.
I was just there on Sun and they told us they are up to 3400. Each year they have 400 to 500 births.
You will need some form of transportation. However, make sure that you are not confusing the San Diego Zoo (which is in San Diego, only minutes away from the cruise terminal ), with the San Diego Safari Park (which is in Escondido, and is quite a distance inland from the cruise terminal).
There is no kennel available. You would have to board at your nearest pet boarding.
Yes they do. They just moved them from thier habitat on the day we went Tuesday because they there cleaning the area but you can still see them on the Safari ride that comes with admission ticket.
You can buy tickets at the entrance
I believe it was $75 last time i went last week. They recently reduced their prices on a lot of things at the park, it might be why their website isn't updated.
It consists of a ride through the the interior of the park in the back of a truck. You get to feed some of the animals, and get photos up close, in some cases. I've done this twice. There is a charge. It's worth it if you have the $$.
The Diamond pass covers not only your membership, but also parking at the Safari Park. I highly encourage an annual pass purchase, kids or no kids!
No there is no discount for Disabled adults, beware that there is also a $15 parking fee which is only waived with a second tier keepers pass.
There is a stop for both Lyft, Uber as well as the regular bus stops. Just need to show the front your card for it.
There are a lot of different options for pricing, I recommend you check their website
Yes you can! One of the awesome policies of this place :)
Hours vary by time of year, check their website, it allows you to search up to 3 months in advance. Also, if you do one of their (extra cost) Roar and Snore safaris you can spend the entire night.
Yes! Military discounts are valid every day of the year, including ALL holidays! Visit as often as you wish! Active duty U.S. Armed Forces personnel* receive all the benefits of our 1-Day Pass admission to the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park upon presenting a Common Access Card (CAC) or Uniformed Services ID Card at our gates. Complimentary admission is reserved exclusively for active duty service members upon presenting valid ID. Military spouses and eligible dependents receive a 10% discount off the 1-Day Pass at both the Zoo and Safari Park and do not need to be accompanied by an active duty member of the Armed Forces. Just show your valid dependent ID card at any ticket window! Retirees and veterans: We do not offer a discount, having already done so during one's years of active service; however, we work with MWR Departments on board local military installations to offer discount packages for U.S. military families, retirees, veterans and others.
Adults are $54, children are $44
The shows would be included..and there is one tour africa tram which takes around the park.there is one cheetah run..it is also a show..the pass mentions what all are included..
We are going Christmas day! They are open very day of the year. If you live in San Diego, sign up for membership. It's worth it. 15.00 to park
You don't drive your own car. You pay about $15 to park your car unless you have a specific type of membership. There is a tram that takes you all around an expansive area of the park where there are giraffes, rhinos, birds, and quite a few other animals roaming around.
i was told there was!
Zoo admission tickets are accepted at the safari park and vice versa.
The times vary based on the season usually the park open between 8-9am. It closes at different times through the year as well.
They provided a wheelchair and were able to ramp it up on a tram.
Yes it is. There is close parking and ramps to access all areas.
Parking is free at the Zoo. San Diego Safari Park is $16.00 for parking if you don't have membership.
It usually gets booked ahead of time so you'll need to check in advance of your request.
Last week the cubs were in the nursery until 11:00 then moved to the tiger exhibit. They are very active and love to be outside!
Was under the impression that it's held everyday, at around 3:00 - 3:30 pm. Not sure if it's also held in the morning.
Yes, for the month of October. We bought 4-day Go San Diego passes only for the adultsand entry was free at both the zoo at Balboa Park and the Safari Park for our two toddlers aged 5 and 3.
Everything else is out of pocket.
One day pass: adults =$52 children =$42. ... on the month of October children of 11 y/o and younger get in for free (presented by mission fed) they may ask for some kind of Identification to proof children's age... upgrade their visit (1 day pass) for $12 for them to get on rides such as " the African tram and conservation carousel rides".
Yes. Complimentary admission is reserved exclusively for active duty service members upon presenting valid ID. Military spouses and eligible dependents receive a 10% discount off the 1-Day Pass at both the Zoo and Safari Park and do not need to be accompanied by an active duty member of the Armed Forces.
Sky ride, express bus and tour bus ride are also available. They can be free or fee depending on the ticket you have.
San Diego has more to offer than Escondido, especially for kids. You have the mid way, seaport village, Balboa park, La Jolla, and Liberty Station to just name a few. I recommend staying somewhere in San Diego like hotel circle so your not spending a lot of time on the road and more time enjoying what San Diego has to offer.
