Loved this hike! Great for beginners. Cam do all sorts of lengths. First 1.3 Miles are steep but on a path, no scrambling. Stay to the left for great views and picnic area.

My favorite trail in San Diego county. The view doesn't get better and it connects to all kinds of awesome trails like Elfin or trails around Lake Hodges. Always has parking unlike other trails in the area. The first mile really is no joke as the incline can get intense. It's often slippery, rocky, and full of gravel. Best to be prepared with hiking poles and be careful with having your pup not pull you down.

Great workout the first mile or so. The views at the top are well worth the effort.

Questions & Answers

Does anyone know if camping is permitted here? And do we have to make reservations??

There is no camping. It's all hiking and mountain biking trails.
