Paths are changed every six weeks. Fun and challenging for me and a good place to tire out the kids. Just make sure you call ahead to confirm the kids area is available. Parties often reserve the kid's space.

Such a fun bouldering gym! It is a clean, fun environment with friendly staff, and more importantly, (generally) friendly fellow climbers. These climbers, for the most part, aren't stuck up climbers here. People take turns on climbs, are rooting for you and are friendly. For memberships they offer unlimited yoga, their bathrooms are clean and have a sauna, as well as having and indoor bar. The bar serves coffee, soft drinks, kombucha on tap, and beer on tap. Pretty darn cool! The climbs seem to be rotated often enough that you're never bored, and their grading system is unique. They grade in ranges, used by colors, to denote the difficulty of a climb rather than outright listing it. For example, an orange route would be rated on the scale of V4-V6. The one above that, being the color red, would be V5-V7. It keeps you humble! Being able to climb most of one color, but not all of it, and some of the next color as well. Give this gym a try, you won't regret it!

Really fun climbing gym. We did a drop in with a 7 year old. It was her first time and she loved it! Great staff and people hanging out, encouraging one another! The place is huge and that can be a little intimidating but the welcoming atmosphere gets you over any apprehension quickly.

I stopped here on the way up to Tahoe to get a good session in. This place is big with a lot of good bouldering. It had a good amount of training boards as well with 2 sets of moon boards, their own huge training board, and more slat boards. I’ve been to the remodeled Pipeworks bouldering area as well, and that’s not bad, but Boulder Field is much bigger with more variety of boulder routes. There are a lot of long, burly problems that get you jacked as well as a lot of technical problems off strong pinches and slopers. The space is very roomy with a lot of seats and tables for spectators. The floor cushions are perfectly supportive.. not too mushy, not too hard. I will come visit this gym every time I’m up in this area. My kids would love the kid section.

ASAP. And P is the question mark. Regs don't allow it now, but we are watching it by the minute. And we are pushing hard on the state and county. Thanks for staying interested!

Does this place offer 24 hour climbing for members

The Boulder Field | Aug 28, 2020

Will, we wish! But all kinds of considerations somewhat limit us to 6 am to 11 pm on weekdays and 8 am to 8 pm on weekends. That's still 109 hours per week. Most guests and members are satisfied with that. And then there are those that just have to have it at midnight or 3 am, so they strap the headlamp on and head outdoors!
