I think we found our new go-to restaurant. Sorry the pictures suck, but after having the mushroom and Brie soup and corn chowder, we pretty much devoured everything else before snapping a pic. The short ribs were excellent and the bao buns were tasty as well. The salted caramel gelato for dessert was honestly the best we’ve ever had. The setting is very nice and the service was excellent. All that said, I cannot recommend this place because I want to be able to get a table next time we go 😀. Honestly though if you’re looking for a really delicious dinner in the NW burbs, you need to put Bleuroot on your list.

Every time we have been here (four times) our food has come out over an hour after ordering, cold, and/or under seasoned. The staff seemed kind of clueless, we were not given any napkins and had to ask several times before they said they were out of napkins and silverware. Weird things to run out of at a restaurant, I don’t blame the server, it’s definitely a management issue. It is really cute inside and their drinks and desserts are always good, I would just stay away from the main dishes...

We attended a dinner event upstairs at Bleuroot and the food was amazing! The service was great and the drinks we very well prepared. We've been wanting to check this place out and it did not disappoint! I recommend the smoke infused old fashioned.

We got seated pretty quickly, even though my reservation somehow didn't register in their books (booked a table through Google assist). I think the serving size is perfect, for those who, like me, don't like getting served with a huge platter of food and end up either overstuffed or taking boxes to go but leftover food almost always never tasted as good the following day. I had the tuna poke bowl -- fish was perfectly seared and the dish was presented very nicely. My husband ordered the power green crunch salad with add on chicken for protein. Cost of the salad ($23 with the protein) ended up being more expensive than their salmon entree which I thought was a bit pricey for a starter dish. Overall happy with the service, they could lower the volume of the background music a bit but our server was attentive and capable. The chef even came by to check up on us after the meal so that was appreciated. We'd come back to give their other dishes a try that's for sure (perhaps not the salad next time). We're not entirely dissatisfied, nice to have a local farm to table spot in the middle of winter, where we can get fairly fresh and beautifully prepared fare.
