Very Clicky. Hard to break in. 😬Especially/mainly Pickleball in my experience. Morning League’s & Set groups rule. No Que (the way Traditional Open Play originated & made PB popular) till Way after prime time & good luck finding a foursome then. The rational is if Open Courts available we’re don’t have to rotate u in Play. It’s the way they have Always done is the Mantra. Buyer Beware if that’s your thing. 🤷🏻♀️

Rude Gate Attendant! Very rude Gate Attendant. I live in The Villages. I will tell everyone I talk to how rude the Gate Attendant was. Came to the Gate House today, 12-25-21, the Gate Attendant mocked my last name terribly. Total jerk! Just a very rude Gate Attendant! Avoid this place at all costs !!!!!!!

I live here, the best and fiscally responsible place, great reserves and great management, HOA feed are reasonable for the amenities available, we chose this community after looking at many others, we are 100% gated and with uniformed security, we also have 4 championship 9 hole golf courses, 2 heated outdoor pools, one heated indoor pool A fitness center that would make a Gym jealous, a full Clubhouse with theater, computer room, billiards room craft room, card room. Just a great place that I call home

If you're wondering you might want to go rent at The Villages for a few months. I came down 3 different times to visit the area before choosing. I then chose The Villages. We rented a home for 3 months while looking for 'last home". Actually living there showed us that this was not for us. We're both active, with health care background. I run, and still do, with a group in The Villages. Old miserable people in golf carts yell obscenities and complaints to the running group as they go around us. The Villages is akin to a city of miserable people who act as if they are above the rest. And they're all old. Yes, it's like a resort, beautiful, things to do-it glosses over the emptiness. We looked at quite a few 55 places. We chose Del Webb, not that its the best, but it's better than The Villages. At least for us. These 55 places are pretty similar. The other place is bigger and are 'selling a lifestyle' they claim. If you already have a life and your style- try Del Webb, or another!
History -- In the early 1970s, development company Monarch Properties, Inc. acquired 930 acres. Monarch built an 18-hole golf course, a two-story clubhouse (at the site of today’s Horizon Center) and three model homes - further development stopped and the property sat from 1974 until it was purchased in 1996 by Spruce Creek Development Company, Inc. Spruce Creek Development Company, Inc. is owned by Harvey “Sonny” Erp, with headquarters located in the Spruce Creek South community in Summerfield. On March 17, 1997 Spruce Creek Golf & Country Club was incorporated. On January 15, 1998, Del Webb Corporation finalized the purchase of both Spruce Creek Preserve and Spruce Creek Golf & County Club from Mr. Erp for $45 million.

There is a wooden fence surrounding the property behind homes on the perimeter and they are in the process of replacing it now. There is also supposed to be a barbed wire fence 10' out past that but I cannot verify that information.
