The registry cannot provide legal advice. If you would like to change title to real property a new deed must be prepared conveying an interest to the new person/people. If you are unsure of how to change title or prepare a deed, we suggest that you speak with an attorney. Our fee schedule can be found on OUR website as follows... https://www.barnstabledeeds.org/fee-schedule/

A deed is a one time instrument conveying title to property. The address of a named grantee in a deed is used solely by the local assessor's office to determine where to mail the real estate tax bill. Since they only pull that instrument from the registry records at the time it is initially recorded, you should contact the assessor in the town the property is located to see what they need from you to reflect a change in mailing address.
You can use the website to get the information , or go to the registry and visit the information desk .....
Yes
Ms. Collari, The registry cannot provide legal advice on how to change or clear title to real property. The answer to your question depends on many factors, including how the deceased individual held title with the remaining owners. If you would like a more detailed response, please contact the registry directly at our listed number and select the extension for the Administrative Offices.
Wills are filed with the Probate court , located in the same building as the Registry of Deeds ....
It would be a good idea if you want the other name added ... If you come in to the registry together, for signing purposes , they will help you prepare and record one ....
