I made an appointment, they were on time, fast and efficient. The technician was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. Overall, it was the best smog station I've ever been to! A bonus was the taco truck parked on site. My car was done before the fish tacos I ordered were. They were well worth the wait!

I FOUND GOD AT BERKELEY SMOG AND DMV REGISTRATION I was prepared for the worst day of my life. I am an introvert, I hate people, I hate the DMV. Enter */Jesse/* I show up to Berkeley Smog for a smog check. I’ve painstakingly gathered every document regarding my vehicle for my impending trip to the DMV. Walk into the place after having set up an appointment literally 2 hours earlier. My mans Jesse asks me, “Do you want to register your car while you’re here?” A pause. “You can do that here?” “Sure, so long as it’s never been registered in CA before. I have plates and registration stickers on hand.” For one glorious moment, everything was right in the world; the heavens parted, a chorus of angels sang, a fairy got its wings back, children could be heard laughing, and so on and so forth. Jesse got the whole deal taken care of for an extra $50 (which still made my total way less than what the DMV calculator told me to expect) and all in like 20 minutes. Ridiculous. Just unbelievable. This place is a holy place. Praise be.

Fast and reliable. Made an online appointment, showed up ~ 5 mins early, was taken in immediately, and left the place in less than 10 minutes. And they are friendly.

Bought a car online from the online dealership Vroom and I had to come here to do a VIN verification for an out of state vehicle to get it registered in California. The business owner looked at my car and noted that the vehicle also needed to get smogged which I was initially surprised about since it's only 1-year old and a hybrid and my dealership didn't ask for that. I took the owner's recommendation and did the smog and paid extra for the added on service. Of course I'm glad he told me about it since Vroom later backtracked and said they also needed a smog check in addition to the VIN verification. I appreciate the owner's extra mile which saved me a trip back. Overall was really quick in/out for a smog and VIN verification (10-15 min total) with only one person in line around 11:30am on a weekday. A few cars arrived as I left so the lunch rush got a little bit busier.
