My coworker recommended me to this garage and I couldn’t be happier. Robert, Doreen, and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly and personable. I didn’t feel like they were trying to upsell me on any services, which is why I avoid the car dealerships! Definitely will be returning to this place for any future car maintenance needs! It’s also next to the Berkeley bowl which makes it convenient to drop off my car and do some grocery shopping!

I really enjoyed my experience at the Model Garage, Shelby was super personable and helpful when dropping of my car, and the owner Robert walked me through all of the results of the inspection they performed. I'm entrusting Model Garage to take good care of my Honda Civic Hybrid as they did for my Volvo. I brought it in for a routine maintenance, requested to have the car ready for pick-up early afternoon. They came through as promised without any problems. I liked it when certain deficiencies (i.e. low motor oil, marginal rating on battery inspection) were noted in the invoice, so that I could be more cognizant about these issues. This place is fabulous. I’ve been going for over 25 years, and chose my last car so I could continue to use their services. They are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They have always been fair and worked with me to take best care of my cars- my first visit was because I didn’t trust the dealership service department when they presented me with a long list of items to “fix”-although I had had no problems. Model Garage checked - one needed to be done, a couple monitored, and the others unnecessary. On another car they patiently worked through an engine problem, then referred me to the dealership (different), who kept the car for two weeks and also could not solve the problem. They have never overcharged me. As a woman I’ve been disrespected at other garages, but not here! Always clear explanations w/o any condescension. Did I mention that I love this place and the wonderful people who work here?
