When I arrived, I was a little skeptical of the process, because I was only asked for information then to wait. But as I waited, I watched the Techs thoroughly examine and drive my car, I was impressed with their diligence. Then I was notified they were ready to complete the transaction. The lady that handled this process was attentive, friendly and explained all the steps to complete the selling process before she walked through those steps. All in all, it took less than 2 hours to complete, and I was happy with the experience.

Wait was long. The guy who helped us, Ethan was very helpful. Quick and easy to communicate with. Promised to hold the car till we come back. Overall I was happy about my first visit here. Updating my review. 2 days later. Came in to buy the car they said they put on hold for me. Now they say somebody deleted the car in their system from another dealership, and this is causing at least an hour delay. If I had not pushed back, they would just say sorry it is what it is and move on to the next car.

Take it to the dealer. They will inspect it & make an offer. If you accept the offer, they will write you a check.

They do buy used cars. We sold ours to them and had a great experience. I recommend having an appointment so that you don't have to wait a long time. The appointment only takes less than one hour.
If you contact CarMax directly, they can give you a quote within about one hour. Our family has sold two cars to CarMax, and the experience was so great. Super easy, and we got more than we anticipated for each car. Good luck!

Once in a blue moon! That's not considered a hot item for them to profit from. I'd suggest listing from individuals or make a WANTED add yourself.
Yes you take your vehicle over to them and they will appraise it and make you an offer. They will resell it for a profit so be ready to take a lot less then what you would get if you sold your car to a private person.
