Quick and efficient . But not worth the low return on recycling to go there again. But I guess it's better that having to pay to dump stuff that is recyclable. Employees are great.

Been a customer for years. Steel is super high right now yet they keep paying me a pittance eventhough i have an account. What a rip off, no wonder so many people are going to other places lately.

My boyfriend has been going to Sims for years, bringing scrap metal. They stopped taking cans and bottles and now have very low scrap prices..😪 However there customer Service is outstanding!! Very Friendly . A very safe place. as well as fun to watch the giant CLAW at work !!! 🇺🇸🚙🚗🚍🚜

I used this place to buy scrap items for repurposing. After I figured out where I needed to go, I had waited in the wrong line for about ten minutes, but a friendly employee pointed me in the right direction. For future reference gate six for scrap purchase. I found the scrap yard to be the cleanest and most well organized of Any I have been to. The employees were all friendly and offered assistance to load my stuff. Prices for purchase were extremely fair, and the selection was good. There does seem to be a lack of signage to point you in the right direction, but the employees were helpful in guiding you through the process. To the others mentioning rude employees or the requirement for identification, I did not experience that at all. The ID requirement is governed by the state, and the facility can be fined if they can’t prove that they checked. You can thank the tweekers for that requirement. I have spoken to managers at other facilities and frankly I’m surprised that they still operate with amount of restrictions that the state has imposed.

What's the copper 1# price per lbs.?
Yes. About $10
Do you buy metal and how much do you paid
I went about a week ago and took some extruded aluminum and it was 52 cents a lb.
Sims on Monterey don't take cans or bottles anymore.
I brought in 1700 lbs and got $40. It cost me more to rent the trailer. But didn't have to pay dump fees!
All depends
I just brought in 1,120 lbs of steel and got 40 bucks! Hahaha. Spent more in gas getting it there.
Sorry inconvenience, department remains closed
No also it depends on what types of light balance they are are they ballast for big outdoor lights or are they ballast for indoor neon lights it depends on the ballast but if anything once in a pound but probably not worth anything
Sorry, we don't. You can try Danny Recycling or San Jose Metals

They buy by the ton
They aren't taking CRV plastic or cans anymore
Only if you drill a hole from each side bottom to top to prove there's no propane in there
Railroad spikes lay along tracks as they are removed by machine and picked up by magnet and being the smaller pieces of metal many of them are simply not picked up the Neighbors in the area will very much appreciate you picking them up so that young punks like I was once won't pick them up and check them over there fences through their windows. Microwave ovens lots of people leaving apartments to move out of state or out of country leave these kinds of things behind you might even find a good one by a dumpster if you start checking apartment complexes especially ones where Internationals reside in large numbers or check out Craigslist let go or any of the other services we're your neighbors are selling second-hand Goods on the cheap possibly even check out the capitol flea market or garage sales

Hi Michael. Yes SMM recycles old appliances. You can bring it to the facility anytime between 8am - 4:30pm on weekdays, and 8am-12noon on Saturdays. Sims will be closed on July 4, however. Have a great evening.

You can expect nothing steel is recycled by weighing the vehicle in dumping the steel and Wing the vehicle out and before you donate make sure you clean that nasty barbecue out chump
