Great and easy hike. Parking was $7 for 4 hours. Did the 5 mile loop in 1.5 hours.

Fantastic trail. However, don't google map to this location. Map to "Claremont Wilderness Park", just south east of this location. That's where the parking lot is, with the trail head. Cost to park with credit card only machine. There were agents checking cars for passes while we were there.

Dog friendly, fire road hike. Good amount of up Hill, flat when you get to the top with a great view. Plenty of spots along the hike to take a break. There is even a Porto potty in one or two places

The park opens at 5:30 am during the months of May, June, and July. It opens at 6 am in April and August, and at 6:30 am September through March.
I think it's $5 during the week & $7 on weekends. I've inly paid with credit card before. If you don't wish to pay, you can park at the park by Indian Hill and walk to the trail head, I think it's abouy a mile or so... haven't measured it.
According to their website, Claremont Hills Wilderness Park, which includes the loop is closed through Friday due to excessive heat and will reopen Saturday 10/3/2020.
