Had a good day out here. I've lived down here for about 13 years and finally got to visit this place. It was busy but not overcrowded. Had a great time swimming and relaxing on a warm day. Can't wait to go back which will be soon.

What a nice campground. We managed to get site #1 which is right next to the bathrooms and showers. It uniquely has 2 levels, a lower for parking, cooking, eating and hanging out and an upper area on the hill perfect for a few tents. A fire pit happened to be next to the steep hillside that made a big difference with camp fire smoke in our eyes in the shifting winds. Don't make the mistake of only getting 1 bundle of wood at the camp store for the evening, which was notably well seasoned. Please keep an eye out for poison ivy. There isn't a great deal of it but it is all over in very small patches including a few feet from the table. It was amazing how loud the birds were at sunrise. We enjoyed this site immensely.

Warriors Path is a lovely park with lots of birds and deer. It's a Great place to fish or walk. The Duck Island path is very dog friendly with trash cans and doggie bags available in short intervals. There are lots of places to picnic and the restrooms are clean. It is also a wonderful place to watch the sunset.

What a beautiful fun state park. We enjoyed our stay and met new RV friends. Wished we could stay longer. People here are so full of life and seem to go out their way to be friendly. Really enjoyed so much in the mornings the smell of bacon and the burning smell of fresh firewood.

At the swimming hole, on other side of paddle boats; you can let your dog swim in the water and play, other places in the park I'm sure, on a leash.
Yes, but please be aware of walking/running pedestrians and also folks who walk their dogs. Always announce "left" or " right" when approaching from behind to help avoid an accident!!
Yes they don't have a snack bar anymore
Idk for sure on that sry not much on the pool as my boys love the play ground
Yes, the marina at Warriors Path has a variety of rental boats. I don't know about any other locales.
Also, there are multiple hemlocks. Yes the plant is poisonous but the hemlock trees are an evergreen that used to be quite common around here. The trees still exist but they are all sick and dying off due to a microscopic exotic bug thats killing them all called hemlock wooly adelgids. Western hemlocks are immune to the effects of the insect but the eatern and carolina versions are suffering. I am not even sure we have poison hemlock in the area.
