Royal is a great stylist but was very unprofessional. I paid her on cashapp for doing my hair and asked her about my card being charged on the website where I booked my appointment and she said don’t worry about it. The following day I wake up to my account just about -300 because she didn’t do what needed to be done to insure my card wouldn’t be charged twice or at least didn’t communicate how it happened until I texted her. There wasn’t an apology she just sent a screenshot of her refunding me the money. I had to wait a week or more cause this happened the weekend to get my money “refunded” I explained to her that this was an inconvenience to me and that I needed my money out back on my card ASAP. Mind you this is my college graduation weekend so I have several other appointments that I gotta pay for and this happening really messed me up. After me being as nice as someone in my position could be with her lack of professionalism SHE BLOCKED ME. Never in my life have I ever dealt with it. Then when I get to the place to get my hair done she says she was about to tell me not to come because I guess I was asking to many questions but I’ve never been to her before and I would think you would try to make a first time client feel as welcomed as possible and I really didn’t get that. It was my first time getting my hair done since I’ve been in remission from cancer. I finally had a bough hair to braid down so I was excited.. She is very gifted though but it just really turned me off from ever booking with anyone again. Period.

She made our appointment very personable. I felt at home at get establishment. She did an amazing job and went beyond my expectations. I’m definitely coming back. Hair by Royal is a vibe.

I have been going the Victoria over the last year for my installs. If you go on her instagram page or StyleSeat (where u can also make an appointment) you will see all the amazing hairstyles she has created. I want to mention when I recently went... the weekend before my birthday I texted Victoria to see if she had any appointments (not online open) available and bundles in the shop or if not what's a good brand of hair I could go purchase. She didn't have any but offered to pick me up 3 bundles that she knew was by a good company (good quality). 16 or 18 inches Wet & Wavy She texted me the total and I sent a cashapp to her with payment. When I got to her salon I had just taken some braids out, that I had for about 3mths due to Covid-19 closing things down, and washed my hair and....... it was locked. I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE!!! ( lesson: never wash hair without getting all the hair untangled lesson learned.... I thought with it being wet it would be easier to detangle) Victoria asked what had happened to my hair cause she had never seen it like this. At first she said, "go home put some detangler on your hair (A LOT) and let sit over night then start combing locs out." But how about while she was talking to me she was behind me picking through my hair and just started untangling it She did most of the process for me I was advised to go home and still do as recommended (but I now didn't need so much detangler) and return the next day at noon. ( She was working me in ON A DAY SHE REALLY DIDN'T HAVE AVAILABILITY because untangling took up most of my install time on the day before. ) I came back the next day she washed my hair, braided it, installed, and styled. Take a look!!! ** As she was doing the install she felt the 3 bundles she has purchased was thin ( not much in the package) so she used some hair that she had in the shop that was left over from another style... still thin... then she went to the store AGAIN for me and purchase another bundle ( that I wasn't charged for) Which made the style look as full as it should ) Victoria notices that the hair they gave her (all of them) wasn't wet N wavy but Deep Wavy. Also, instead of giving her all 16 or 18.... they gave 14, 16, 18...... where they do this at So, she said since u have to go out of town for your birthday... when u return I will redo your hair and only charge for installation or the hair... look AT GOD!! I said "when I get back... let's just go with starting locs ... will u use my discount then?" She even agreed to that Where can u go these days and get service (expensive) and the owner isn't the owner isn't satisfied, as well as the customer, and goes far and beyond to make it right? Styles don't last long and fall apart the same week. The stylist does not care about the content of her clients natural hair, customer service sucks. The stylist is extremely rude and will show up late for appointments that are scheduled without an apology or anything. Stylist complains alot about doing her job, overcharges for simple styles, and will do a half job just to make a buck. Additionally, stylist schedules too many people at the same time and changes prices although the prices are listed online. Stylist gives inefficient consultations and does not listen to her clients.
