A truly beautiful place. There is nothing I love more than watching the waves roll in beneath a pier. When not busy as during peak times, it is so peaceful and zen. During this trip the light of my life actually decided to ask for my hand right below the pier. Of course this makes me quite biased, but this peer will forever hold a special place in my heart.

We have been going to Emerald Isle for years now. Every year we like to head over to the pier in the evening. We usually just walk out and people watch and look for sharks. This year we saw a few sharks. If you like to take pictures i would advice waiting till late evening. The light comes from the west and directly hits the waves people surf on. No good surfing this year but i have gotten some good pictures in the past. In the last couple of years they have upgraded the main shop and added a restaurant. They are both very nice and worth a visit. Anyhow, the people are as interesting as the fishing and its free to walk out and take in the view. We wouldn’t think of doing our annual summer trip without walking the pier at least once.

Great for what it is. Parking is $20 for the day but they will give you $15 back if you're in for less than an hour. I'd highly recommend getting there early though because the lot was full and there was a line of people waiting to get in by noon (pre memorial day weekend). Lots of space on the actual pier for fishing and there's a small convenience store on the front end. Public restrooms and some showers are there too.

Such a cute free pier to visit. Great views and a variety of people! Has a shop and a restaurant. Lots of parking and free in the off season to park. Definitely make a stop if driving by!

No you pay the fee for the day and you're good to go.
They sell it there 😀
It may be too cool and too early in the season right now. You can also call the pier house and ask them what they've seen today.
Yes there is a fee to fish from pier, however there are plenty of areas to surf fish from in the area.
1 ROD & REEL COMBO – $7 for 6 hours 1 TOTAL PACKAGE (rod, pier pass, bait and tackle) – $29.41 License or deposit required.
We only charge on Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays. Parking is always free for fishermen. Paid parking is only from April 15th thru July 31st. Thanks! Mike Stanley, owner.
I will ask the next time him down there which will be next month.
