After over 5 months of waiting and hoping to go to a mediation and settle our separation (with my now ex-wife), the situation at home was unfortunately constantly escalating and I was forced to look for a legal help. As I was doing online searches for a best family law practice in San Diego, I was lucky that I landed on JWB Family Law website. DO NOT EVER HIRE THEM! The whole team is really terrible. They suggested a totally wrong way to solve the problem after listening to you only literally FIVE minutes in the first consultation! And do not ask you about details/context of everything. After receiving the letter of opponent attorney they simply say they cannot do anything at this time because they suggested a wrong way to solve the case in the first place. This will WASTE TWO WEEKS OF TIME and CHARGE YOU $1000 FOR DOING NOTHING! And they ignore all your emails after. Really terrible experience. JUST DO NOT USE THEM!!

Before Jane took my case I was not able to see my son very much. It got so bad I had to call the sheriff to try and enforce the agreement my ex and I had. The sheriff told me that I needed to have a court order and thats when I went and found Jane Wesley Brooks. I had a free initial consultation and we put together a game plan. The whole thing took almost a year but I got EVERYTHING, and I will repeat EVERYTHING I was looking for. My ex could not control the situation anymore she switched council due to her frustration not being able to steam roll my lawyer. When it came time to negotiate her side was not coming to a mutual agreement so we took it all the way to an evidentiary court trial. Jane came in with a folder that was about three inches thick the other attorney came in with nothing. They still did not want to negotiate and just before we proceeded to proceed with court, opposing council asked to talk with judge. The attorneys met with the judge in her chambers and I got EVERYTHING I wanted. If you decide to get a lawyer be prepared to go ALL IN and if you have mentally made that decision do yourself a favor and get the best lawyer you can. Jane Wesley Brooks is amazing you do not want to go against her. I love Jane Brook one Happy Day she changed my life.

Dear Jesi, I am not certain what you mean be competitive. If you are referring to our hourly rates, we have attorney rates that range from $275 to $425 per hour. Generally, we would charge a lump sum retainer for a Post-Judgment matter such as spousal support enforcement. Typically, our lump sum of post-Judgment single issue enforcement is $3,500. Attorneys are assigned cases based on the complexity of the case. If all you are attempting to do is get a spousal support enforcement motion filed and a wage garnishment issued after the hearing we would request a $3,500 retainer and assign our junior associate at $275/hour. Also, there are free legal services available to you. Specifically, the Superior Court of San Diego offers family law legal assistance through the Family Law Facilitators Office.
